My Thoughts
Ah, yes, the third release from 'hard rockers' Saliva. After an impressive debut, this five-some slipped into mediocraty with their second release, Back In Your System. And with this new release, they increase the rocking factor, but also increase the ridiculous lyric factor. Most of the lyrics here involve how they're rock stars and how they rock. They swear a lot, and make awful rhymes, but they rock. It seems that the best songs are the tender ballads they like to do. The lyrics are better, and Josey Scott can actually carry a tune.
Here are some examples of the awful lyrics.
"Back in the day, I dedicated my life to becoming a big rock and roll star. I began to change and I rearranged my life so I could buy a big rock and roll car."
Okay, what is a 'big rock and roll car'?
Well, for the most part, its a self-congratulatory album telling everyone how important and famous they are. But, if you ignore the lyrics, it makes for a kick-ass, straight-up rock experience. However, it only gets a 2 because I happen to listen to the lyrics. Better luck next time.
