Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
There is nothing more exhilarating as watching Will Farrell make an ass of himself in a film. Old School, Starsky and Hutch, Ron Burgandy, and others make me excited to go to movies. Even though I hate NASCAR, I was excited to see this flick, and I was not dissapointed.
Ricky Bobby was born in the backseat of a car, going fast. His father was a semi-pro driver, and an absentee (played by the always brilliant Gary Cole). When he got older, he and his best friend, Cal, got into racing. Ricky became the best, and Cal was the perptual second. Ricky married smokin hot Carley, had two kids, Walker and Texas Ranger. He was the best. Until a french Formula One driver invades. Ricky has a spectacular crash, and can't drive anymore.
Most of the rest include how his father returns to get him back into shape, Cal marrying Carley, and Ricky's mother straightening out Ricky's boys. In the end, Ricky gets back in the saddle and wins one more race.
I laughed the entire movie, watching Will Farrell mug for camera, whether he be fully clothed or in his tighty-whiteys. He basically did his G.W. Bush impression for 100 minutes, and it was good. The supporting cast was excellent, especially Gary Cole, who is always awesome. Even the NASCAR was all right, and I'm looking forward to the next Will Farrell, borderline retarded character. Its a 9, go see it!
