My Thoughts
After slightly dissapointing me with Karfma and Effect, Seether has come back and redeemed themselves with this live acoustic album. It includes cuts from Disclaimer I and II, and Karma and Effect. The rehab-bound Shaun Morgan's vocals are on full display here, and they are pretty masterful. Not a missed chord, which is quite the contrary to Evanescence's live album Anywhere But Home. For all of Amy Lee's power, she has some control issues with that voice. Morgan, on the other hand, is even and controlled the whole way, and even comes off as a more melodic Curt Kobain.
Seeing as Karma and Effect eventually grew on me, this disc was a nice revisit to their best tracks. Since I haven't seen them live, it also showed me that they would probably do one hell of a show, which is what I've been told by certain friends who have seen them. From start to finish, One Cold Night is one of the best live albums I've heard in a while. Its worth a 4 of 5.
