My Thoughts
Here it is, the very best from one of my favorite bands, Live. After over ten years and six albums, they have treated fans with a collection of their best. And it is a very good collection. Now, I've mentioned before that their second disc, Throwing Copper, is one of my favorites, but I actually hadn't heard the disc they released before that, Mental Jewelry. The three tracks from that disc are great, and after those come five tracks from Copper.
The one original track, "We Deal In Dreams" is a saccharine ballad, which I'm not to fond of. The two tracks off their worst album, Secret Samadhi, are a mixed bag. Really, I'm not fond of "Lakini's Juice", but "Turn My Head" is a truly wonderful experience. The three tracks from The Distance to Here, a great album, are perfect, and even "Overcome" from V is worth listening to. If, that is, it doesn't make you wistful over 9/11. The album was released just after, and the song became an anthem for the whole ordeal. it was widely overplayed, but, the song is still powerful. And, of course, it includes two tracks from last year's Birds of Pray. The final track is a cover of Johnny Cash's "Walk the Line". Its interesting. Not bad, but interesting.
Overall, its a great trip through memory lane, and a very powerful collection of songs. Its getting a five, no doubt, but listen to it. Its great.
