My Thoughts
Since Evanescence hasn't released anything in a few years, I've been needing to fill the void of hard-rocking girl-fronted bands. So far, I've found Lacuna Coil and the brand new Flyleaf. That's all thanks to Sirius again. Flyleaf is a new band, fronted by a dimunitive girl named Lacy, whose voice is powerful and angry. More angry and less theatrical than Evenascence, but that's actually the mood I've been in lately.
Most of the songs have a slight pop lilt to them, but for the most part, you can feel the angst and anger. The best song on the disc is "Cassie", a twisted tale of an angry girl. The album flows, and if you know anything about my reviews and the music I like, the disc has to flow well. This has got the best flow of an album this year. And, its getting a 5.
