My Thoughts
Finger Eleven. The Rainbow Butt-Monkeys. Never mind.
Anyway, over the last year, Canadian group Finger Eleven has been teasing us. They haven't had an album out forever, and in 2002, they released a single on the WWE's Forceable Entry. "Slow Chemical" was the best song on the disc, and whetted my appetite for more. Then, this year, they pitched in with the Daredevil Soundtrack. "Sad Exchange" was my second favorite song on the album. So, I was juiced for an album.
I wasn't a fan before "Slow Chemical". I'll tell you that right now. I'd never heard anything by them until that song. But, I heard the first single off this album, "Good Times" and knew it was going to be a keeper. And I wasn't dissapointed.
The pacing on the album is impeccable, each song compliments each other so well, it moves smoothly. But, that's not the best part. Hard-rockin, simple tunes that just sound phenomenal. My personal favorite is "Panic Attack". Check this line out: "Thought I could fake this thing alright/Thought I could somehow get me by/Watching the doctors as they slide/Needles into my eye". Brilliant. Each song is so twisted in their lyrics, yet so simple in their music. Its a great road disc.
So, without further ado, I'm giving this thing a 5. A must listen. And the greatest thing is that these guys are on tour with fellow Wind-Up artists and, in my opinion best album of the year, Evanescence. I wish I could see that show.
