Plot
Just after Bond gets his 00 status, he is on the trail of LeChiffre, a financier of terrorists. After some unorthodox methods, he ends up in a high stakes poker game against LeChiffre. Throw in a romance with UK treasury agent Vesper Lynd, and the first encounter with Felix Leiter, and Bond's career gets off to a rollicking start.
My Thoughts
Meh.
As I watched what most critics called a perfect Bond, I was mostly bored. It didn't have the same Bond flavor that the classics like Goldfinger, Goldeneye, or even Licence to Kill had. Craig was intense, but very dry, and the plot was pretty dull. The action sequences were long and a little painful to watch, even though Craig pulled them off well enough. Maybe I'm the only person who actually enjoyed 80% of the old Bond movies, and didn't see a reboot as necessary, but that's the way I feel. There were less gadgets, less humor, and less enjoyability for me. Although, Eva Green as Vesper Lynd was so wonderful to watch. Soooooo hot.......
