Revelations

Artist: Audioslave. Released: September 2006
My Thoughts
The third offering from the supergroup Audioslave had me salivating. I listened to their first album continuously, and their second album was still all right after a few listens. The first single of Revelations was "Original Fire", which was up tempo and a little funky. The funk from Rage has been building over the first two discs, and it has finally made its way fully into the Audioslave sound on this disc. The first halof of the album is rockin and mixes the smoky smooth voice of Cornell with just enough funk from the rage crew. Its a slight departure from the other two discs, but its still an enjoyable sound.
The last half of the album gets a little slower, and a little more inrospective, which kind of breaks the funky grooves of the first half. I've only heard the disc through twice, and I'm thinking I'll need another few listens to 'get' the second half. Its a good disc, but still not quite what their debut was. It'll get an 4 for now,but that might change.
