I could not attend his funeral! but dedicated two poems to Dr. Bachchan on 19th January 2003

I also wrote to Amitabh Bachchan on two more occasions on the death anniversaries of Dr. Bachchan!  If the superstar did not have time to acknowledge it is quite understandable.  I will have a lifetime regret that I could  not attend  the funeral of Dr. Bachchan because of his being the father  of  India's biggest superstar!  The bundobast and  security around his final  rites meant the common man could not bid farewell to him on his final  journey!

I only wish that Amitabh Bachchan takes initiative to build a memorial  for Dr. Harivanshrai Bachchan where matter and material  related to Dr. Bachchan is available to the common man. It will be a great service if such centres are enacted at Allahabad, Delhi and Mumbai. ( Rach do ab Nai Madhushala! ).

It will be a perfect way to mark the birth centenary of  a great Hindi Poet who was loved by millions!
