Abhaya Sharma Presents World Cup 2009
Group Stage Matches
Dear MSD and Team India
I would not be able to present any statisitics or views during the world championsip of T20 that begins tomorrow. I would expect that all of you play as a colective unit and prove me wrong by brining home the trophy second time around in a row. It would be worthwhile to rotate the players especially bowlers and can wait for complete recovery of Sehwag and Khan before inducting them.
Let Kumar and Singh know that they do need to bowl within themselves experimenting with deliveries that they have not yet mastered can prove to be expensive.. it is all right.. it may not be a bad move to play two regular spinners once in a while.. yet do not forget to utilise the ability of Rohit and Raina to turn the games with their bowling efforts.. use them sporadically than regularly.. One would need to be playing pretty decent cricket in super eight in the light of heavy competition.. put your best foot forward and always remember that fortune favours the brave.. we do have a great team.. yet if the semifinal is against New Zealand it would be very important to guard against the history.. we have yet to win a T20 aginst them as we have yet to lose a T20 to Pakistan..
Best of luck to you and every member of the team. I would expect that Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag get to play every game possible besides you.. to make the five Pandavas of modern T20 cricket for India.. Bravo.. Play your natural game Viru whether you bat as opener or down the order.. the key is change in strategy in every game.. surprise the opponents by the unexpected.. Best Wishes for a wonderful tournament in England

(Scenario 1 - The teams finish their group matches with the above results – The most likely outcome of events given the strengths of the teams at the current form o their players and International standings, in case Srilanka makes it to the super eight they would become C2 instead of West Indies – There is less likelihood of any other upsets at the group stage - the other extreme possibility could be that Srilanka and West Indies qualify in the group C! Srilanka would then be C2 and West Indies would become C1)
The bottom half of the diagonal bisect would be used to declare the winner of the games between the two intersecting countries and winner of the man of the match award in that game
