Born the only daughter of a farming family on the edge of Tharna, my first breath was taken in the time of the yearly thaw, along with the last breath of my mother. The birth had been too hard for her, so I was left to the care and training of my merchant father and three brothers, who trained me well in the daily chores of a woman when I was old enough to do so. I learned to make clothes for all of us and tend to the animals when they were sick or injured, developing quite a love for them, and being content in my life.
One by one my brothers were lured off to the big cities…never to be heard of again. My father and I did our best to keep the farm, and he taught me some of what it means to be a merchant…but not enough to carry on his legacy…and in time he too received a call to travel, but his was to the City of Dust…
Before he died, he gave me a small wooden chest with a lifetimes worth of golden tarns, and all of the profits that he had made in that year, plus what he had been saving as a dowery for me when I came of age. I had only seen sixteen winters when my father died, and was left with his words to "seek out your family". When he spoke of my brothers or of us he never used the word "family"…so I was left to learn what exactly he meant. I took everything I had, and set the house to burn, then turned to the world to see what it truly held for me.
I spent nearly two winters on the outskirts of the Panther lairs…seeking the warmth of their fires when none were at them, and learning small secrets of trade and how to protect myself if needed but never truly becoming one of them, never feeling truly welcomed. Then I left the forest, determined to find my "Family" as I was told to do…
I found the warmth of the closest town…Vanir's Fjord. As I had done with the Panthers, I quietly learned their ways, and soon enough found a new home…one person in particular made me feel wanted…no needed and soon after became my AND…thus beginning what I was to know as my true "family"…Vandark became my brother, and all that I needed to know I have learned from him since then…
But perhaps the most welcoming individuals of all were Cassandra and the Lady Nyx…Since I never knew my mother, the grace and beauty they held made them seem more like dreams than flesh and bone women, and Nyx took it upon herself to teach me what my father had been remiss in doing, and took me as her apprentice in merchantry…Thus I reside in my home with my "family"…something that no one, and no thing can ever take away…
