The Jarl's Woman
.....Lady Nyx, Banker of Gor

The Lady Nyx was born on 25 Rastar into a family of the Merchant’s Caste, in a small town, south of the great city of Ar. Her Mother, Justine had sadly died in childbirth, along with the boy child. Her Sire, Barak was an affluent Merchant who took the young Lady with Him, She being His only daughter and offspring, on many of His caravan trips. Learning Her trade through His patient teachings, and travelling with Him most of Her life, She developed a sense of the wide vistas open on Gor, it’s many people and customs.

One early Winter, travelling all the way down to the Plains of Turia with Barak, to the City of Turia itself on a trade mission, Their caravan was beset upon by bandits, and Barak thrust His daughter into a small wagon to hide while He and His men did battle. Unfortunately when Lady Nyx finally heard the silence and crept out of the wagon, none remained alive. All wagons and goods were gone, all the caravan lay dead upon the blood-soaked soil, and the only thing She had left was the one small wagon with a load of silks, which the bandits had overlooked, considering it too poor to bother with.

Thus the Lady Nyx took up where Her beloved Sire had left off, travelling the Plains to bring trade goods to the ferocious Wagon People. Enduring the pain and humiliation of being branded on the upper left arm with the sign of the Merchant so that She could earn a living, and spending many lonely days with only Her bosk Koz for company, She one day happened upon the Camp of the Paravaci, the Rich People, and there met such people of honor and wealth, that She decided to call this Her homestone.

Still Lady Nyx travelled between the camps, making friends among the Wagon Peoples and slowly amassing Her wealth, but, ever mindful of that tragic day when She had lost everything, continued in the small, poor looking wagon, outsmarting the bandits many times. It was upon the Plains She met a wandering Hunter, an older Rarius of Torvaldsland, Whom struck fear into Her heart, for She had heard of them, and this one looked as fierce and deadly as the stories foretold. Imagine Her surprise, when upon returning to Paravaci from a trading mission, this same Torvaldslander was now a Member of Her own homestone.

His pursuit of Her was relentless, though flattering, and despite Herself, She found that He was the One, Her Soulmate and the Keeper of Her Heart. Being a proud and rather stubborn sort, Lady Nyx decided to deny the suit after weeks of association, but by this time it was far too late for Her, for the Torvaldslander was even more proud and stubborn than She. On January 15th Kurzon the Hunter and the Lady Nyx were joined by the Ubar in the Ceremony of Free Companionship.

Life on Gor was good, the Paravaci people were warm and loving, but, as nothing stays the same in life, one day it was apparent that the time had once more arrived to move on. Kurzon was longing for His northern home, and where Her FC goes, so goes the Lady Nyx. In sorrow for leaving the Paravaci, but excited about starting a new Steading with Kurzon, His And Thoron, Her Anda Cassandra, the wicked slave lyria and the lovely bond-maid kal’mia, Lady Nyx turned Her eyes to the north. It is there, in Vanir’s Fjord that the first born of Jarl Kurzon the Hunter will be born Torvaldslander.
