The Jarl....
.....Kurzon the Hunter
Kurzon the Hunter Jarl of Vanir’s Fjord, Torvaldsland
Born some 140 years ago Kurzon grew fast and hardy like most men of the Torvald. He learned quickly and well, for in a land of giants and great axes there are No second chances.
During His 15th year He went to sea, as Men are wont to do. He returned from His First Voyage,
accounting for Himself well, The Jarl was pleased and gave the lad a sleen pup as His share of the loot.
From that day on Kurzon and His Sleen were a common sight; and as the sleen grew to
adulthood so did the boy. In His 21st year Kurzon first experienced the Berserker Rage common
to Men of the North and in a blind killing fury slew 7 men of Hafnir’s steading including the Jarl
Hafnir. Once again the Jarl was pleased and gave Kurzon one of Hafnir’s serpent ships as His own.
Now Kuzon started to range farther from His steading, trading as well as raiding. He followed this course for many years, enjoying His life at sea and the Joy of the Hunt. It was on one of these
trips that He first met the Wild Women and runaways, known as Panthers, upon a rocky beach of the Great Northern Forest. He traded with them on a regular basis over ther next few years, amused by their apparent lack of trading skills but impressed by their honour…it was
here that he acquired the name Hunter and also here that he found his Twin black sleens…
Raff...
For many years did Kurzon wander the plains. He met the Dreaded Tuchucks and drank their paga. He visited the Blood People, the Kassar, and drank their paga. He stopped and parlayed with the Kataii and
Drank their Paga. Then one day He met a lone Merchant upon the Plains of Turia. She told him of a Ubar, Braden. A Great Warrior, yet an honest and simple Rarius. He determined to meet this Man and traveled to the Wagon Camp of the Paravaci. He was welcomed here and decided to stay, taking on the mantle of the camp’s Hunter.
It was at this camp that He again met a Merchant, the Lady Nyx. Kurzon was determined to have Her as His Woman, and told Her that she would Be His; as FC or as slave. This was a reasonable choice to His Mind. She decided on the former and They exchanged Vows. As the time progressed, Kurzon was amazed By this Lady for with seemingly little effort She amassed a fortune, yet had time for Him and His new slave gennesia. He was Happy.
Then things began to change. Perhaps it was that He missed the north or perhaps the Sea. But dissatisfaction overcame Him and He quarreled with the Ubar. This was not good, He reasoned, and if He were to stay here things would only get worse. He thought long and hard about this and talked to His
True ‘And Thoron, also once of the north. He also was suffering the same pains. The decision was made and together they set off for the Fjords of Home taking Their Women and Their slaves. They were joined in their search for a new home by the Haruspex, who said She was due for a change and had not seen the North for many years.
