Buffy & Angel

The Cross-Over Episodes

These episodes aren't in huge detail, but enough that you won't be lost...

October 19, 1999:

This episode runs a full two-hours, and brings out of retirement one of the best "Bad Guy" characters to ever hit Sunnydale - SPIKE. The good news for we Slayer fans is that apparently he also has a liking for LA…….

Hour One: Buffy is bumming out about school (not that she hasn't looked that way since the first episode); has ditched her "roomie from hell"; and has spotted a potential new love interest for her recently Vampire-void life (Parker). Spike himself has picked up a replacement for his precious Drucilla (at least for the first hour); who is very keen on sucking Willow dry.

As things pick up with the Buff and Parker, we find out why Spike is in town. He's got his eye on a supposedly "mythical" gem that will allow vampires to become impervious to sun, fire, stakes - you know all the Vampire no-no's…..

Parker and Buffy end up at the same party as Spike and his new blood-sucking gal (of course), and the chase is on - at least for a few minutes and then the Buff heads back to her non-vampire date…..

Buff then truly becomes Buff, and sleeps with Parker. Of course the next day - no call from Parker and the Buff goes right back to being bummed out. She runs into Parker who says it "was fun" and off the playboy goes.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Spike's gal-pal has found the gem, which Spike promptly relieves her of. He's off for some fun in the sun - and perhaps…. Yes! It looks like….to kick some slayer butt!

Spike shows up at the school (not long after the Parker departure), and gives our Slayer quite a hard time! He's ahead at this point, but low and behold, he mentions the big "A" name and Buffy starts to kick his butt! In the end, Buff takes the jewel, and Spike (starting to smolder in the sun) takes off…. What to do with such a powerful gem….. hmmmmm….. let's see - "Oz, perhaps you could give it to Angel when you conveniently head to LA?" "Sue Buff!"

Hour Two: Angel, Doyle, and Corde are crying poor mouth, talking shop, and…. Who's this? "Oz, is that you?" "Yah! Hi Corde. Hi Angel! Here's your tanning opportunity gem. Buff wanted you to have it." Angel takes the gem and hides it in the sewer.

Spike watches Angel, and finally nabs him. He wants the stone, but surprise, surprise, Angel won't tell. Spike however has planned for this and brought a Vampire torturer with him (yes, I guess even they can find employment somewhere).

Angel still isn't talking and they are giving him the full work-out. Spike even gets the digs in about Buff and the jerk! Meanwhile Corde and Doyle are hiding at Doyal's place just as Angel instructed - right up until they run into Spike who has left Angel in the torturer's capable hands.

He tells them to get the gem and he'll give them Angel. Corde and Doyal head to the sewers where Doyal does a "demon-thang" and finds the gem. They force Spike to take them to Angel, where they'll give him the gem.

Angel has missed escaping by this time, and is definitely growing tired of his new Vamp-a-chologist. All parties enter the warehouse. Is everyone present and accounted for? Oooops! Where's Oz - that pesky Werewolf? Here he comes in his van smashing right through the garage door.

All are rescued and escape. The gem is loose on the floor, but not for long, Torture-Boy takes off with it. Spike is pissed, and we don't see him again (not in this episode anyway).

Angel and new Scooby Gang go after the Wacko; Angel and he fight under the docks (after a quick plunge into the water - good move for Angel - who was about to burst into flames); and Torture guy goes poof! While Angel watches kids play on beach!

Angel watches last sunset (at least for now) and smashes gem (why? We have no clue - he's become quite a martyr as of late)!

Joss Wheldon is undeniably one of the greatest writers in television right now, and these two shows are kicking butt in the action-entertainment industry! I love television, and I have some definite favorite shows, but as far as scripts go - I will tell you this - Buffy: The Vampire Slayer & Angel are leading the pack!
