The Java Hut

"SARAN!!!!" The air was filled with Corde’s voice as she cried out to her apprentice. "SARAN, Where are you?"

"What’s wrong, Corde?" Corde looking around the room notices Eponie sitting at the bar. Coming across the room she sits down next to Eponie with a look of frustration on her face.

"Saran, I know she’s new around here, and I really like her, but..."

"But what?" Eponie, obviously knowing more than she lets on, gives Corde room to vent.

"Well, I just had to be off the Island for a week, one week and I left her in charge. The coffee is great and those odd drinks she makes, well, everyone seems to be enjoying them..."

"So what’s wrong Corde? The hut has been filled every morning, we Amazons have been enjoying our coffee and nothing catastrophic has happened. So what could possibly be wrong?"

Corde, not noticing how Eponie knows more than she’s saying, continues on. "When I left, I had just got in a huge supply of coffee stirrers. 16 cases to be exact, you see, the supplier thought I meant cases and not boxes and with 100 boxes in a case and 500 stirrers in a box....

"Well I didn’t have time to send them back and figured it could wait until my return and well now there’s less than a box left! I’ve only been gone a week, one week! How could we go through that many stirrers?"

"Corde, well you know, it’s been rather busy here....and well...."

Just then Ashana enters the hut, smiling ear to ear and not knowing what was happening makes the announcement. "Hey, Eponie. Have you seen Saran’s latest creation?"

Eponie groaning and getting up from the bar goes over quickly to Ashana. "Uh, Ashana, you might want to not talk about this right now."

"No, no I think she does want to talk about this right now." Corde says while coming up to the two Amazons. "Now I know, something is going on, but not what! And the two of you are going to tell me, you know we’re all Amazon sisters here, and I’m sure whatever Saran’s been up to, well I won’t hurt her" quietly adding "too bad."

"Well, um Corde. I’m sure Eponie has been filling you in on the events of the past week, right? And well Saran seems to be sort of hyperactive at times. She needs to get her creativity out by building things. See she was making drinks left and right, and well felt kind of frustrated. This wasn’t why she became an Amazon, she loves the hut and you, mind you, but she needed more..."

"Ashana, she has all that other stuff she does, she’s messing with the realms computers, making sure the Queen can chat to us and all and on top of that she has those crazy toothpick weapons we’re making....." Dawning as to what might have happened to the stirrers, Corde continued. "The stirrers? She couldn’t just be satisfied with making toothpick weapons, could she?"

With slight smiles on their faces both Eponie and Ashana give affirmative nods to Corde. Not knowing what to say that may calm the young Amazon, they both just stayed quiet while she continued on.

"I realize the woman is a whiz at building things, I mean I love making the weapons with her, but what could she possibly make with coffee stirrers."

Eponie, taking the lead says, "well how about we show you."

Corde, realizing that there’s nothing left to do but see what exactly Saran has been up to, she follows the two outside. With Ashana on one side and Eponie on the other, they make their way down to the cove. All the while, Corde is thinking to herself. "Obviously, Saran has been making whatever it is at home, probably fearing for her life when I find out about it. No, that couldn’t be it, Saran doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything, at least not anything rational. So what could she be building? Unlike the toothpicks, the stirrers really didn’t have any chance at hurting an enemy, so there’s no point in making weapons with them....what could it be? Some sort of telecommunication device? An antennae? A............ "

Corde’s thoughts just slammed shut when she looked up, and saw a group of Amazons, led by Queen Cyan, all getting their fishing gear ready. Not understanding why, she looked out onto the cove to see what was tucked neatly away in the back. Amazingly enough it was a boat dock that went out far enough into the ocean, but still, was concealed from unwanted attention. Moored to the dock was a full size fishing boat complete with sails, and anchors. On board was the Enforcer, dutifully checking out the safety of the boat, with Saran following on her heels. Everything, the dock and ship were made out of coffee stirrers.

The End, for now.
