Part I
There once was a peaceful island no one had ever really heard of, but on this island lived a tribe. A tribe strong at heart, brave, and knowledgeable. The island's name was The Isle of Wants and Desires. As for the tribe..their name was AmazonQuest! The Queen was kind and carried much knowledge and power given to her by the Power of the Crystals. Her name was Queen Cyan. Everyone loved her and tried not go against her wishes.
Also on this island there was a young man named StudBoy...a mighty handsome lad with a very special gift known as The Voice of Persuasion. As soon as he sang he could persuade anyone to do whatever he wanted them to do. He always made sure that he used his gift for good of course.
The Queen called Stud Boy into her hut and when he got there she seemed very worried.
(SB) "Yes my Queen?"
(Q) "StudBoy, there is trouble in the future with a man....brave...handsome...and strong. His name is Robin....Robin Hood. He travels with a group of warriors known as his Merry Men and they roam all of England stealing from the rich to give to the poor. I believe they deserve all that is good, and we need your help."
(SB) "This sounds pretty big....what do you want do?"
(Q) "I would like you to lead an away team into his realm where we shall try and help in anyway we can. I will be coming with you, but leave you to chose the rest of your team."
(SB) "Alright....then I shall gather the team right away...they will consist of, Mad Matt for his mapping skills; Labris for her healing; Corde to give them the gift of coffee and Vicky for her knowledge with these times."
(Q) "Ok. I will gather my things, and we should be ready to go by dawn tomorrow. I'll give you the full backgrounds of all the problems we must fix."
StudBoy brought his away team together to have a short meeting and tell them what it was about their mission was about.
(SB) "Ok everyone you now know what you have to do...we'll discuss more at dawn when we leave."
Vicky raised her hand with a worried and confused look on her face.
(SB) "Yes Vicky? What's wrong?"
(V) "I'm sorry, but I can't do this...my daughter Marissa needs me right now."
(SB) "I'm sorry Vicky, but WE need you right now and we have discussed things with Saran and she would be very happy to watch Marissa while you're gone."
As they all left the hut for the evening Vicky had tears in her eyes. StudBoy assured her that things would be ok, and that they'd be back on the island as soon as possible.
Tomorrow came fast, and the sun was almost up. StudBoy went to the Queen's hut to make sure she was all set and to get the itinerary for the problems the team was to solve. It was a long list but they would try to do all that they could. After all, this is what the tribe was for; to solve problems throughout all times!
It was time to go and the team huddled together in front of the portal ready to go. The controls team opened the portal....it shined brightly and was almost hard to look into but one by one the AmazonQuest Away Team #224 made their way to help Robin Hood and His Merry Men!
For this away team would be known as
StudBoy and His Merry Amazons!!!!!
The away team came through the portal and into a landscape very similar to what they had been used to seeing in the Greek countryside long before any of them had arrived on their island.
(V) "It's beautiful! Everything looks so green and peaceful. Where exactly did we end up? Is this Sherwood Forest?"
The travel of the teams through the portals had been improving each time, but it was still difficult to pin-point exact entrance sites in vast countrysides or certain portions of space. The Queen looked over towards StudBoy for an answer, but knew his guess was as good as hers. Still, it was "his" away team, and she was going to give him the space to lead it the way he wanted, at least until she deemed otherwise.
StudBoy knew the Queen realized what an important realm travel this was for him. He had slowly proven himself loyal to the Amazons, and gained each of their trust. He had been trained alongside them; fought with and for them against many enemies; and eventually had been given The Enforcer's seal of approval to go on his first team. The Queen trusted him, and he knew that's why she would allow him to lead, at least for now…
(SB) "I think we are near the forest, but not in it. The way the read-out is coming through we should have to walk about half a day from here."
(Q) "For crying out loud! You'd think with the technology we have at our fingertips we could have gotten a little closer than that!" The Queen rolled her eyes at the thought of having to hike to get to their actual destination.
(SB) "Don't worry Queenie, Mad Matt's got the maps and will find us the shortest route possible. While he does that maybe we should head into the woods over there a bit and see if we might acquire ourselves some transportation."
(C) "Good idea. I'm sure we could at least round up a couple of horses to make the trip go a little faster."
The team headed towards the woods leaving Matt to calculate the route they would need to take to reach the heart of Sherwood Forest. The Queen lagged behind with StudBoy, nudging him in the arm..
(Q) "You may have saved my life once StudBoy, but you call me Queenie again in front of the tribe, and I'll end yours…" Cyan strolled ahead to catch up with the rest of the team leaving StudBoy smiling behind her.
Vicky and Corde were the first to catch sight of a wild group of horses heading out of the woods towards a small clearing. "Looks like we'll all be getting a horse this time around" Vicky said!
(Q) "Everyone spread out and make a circle around the pack. StudBoy, you need to get an extra horse for Matt. No one move until I give the signal. I don't want to end up walking because someone tipped them off too soon!"
The Amazons moved through the trees with amazing agility and speed; while the horses continued on, oblivious to their presence. The Queen and Corde ran through the trees to the far side of the pack while Vicky, Labris and StudBoy closed in on the remaining sides. Only the sounds of the countryside could be heard, mixed with Cyan's subtle whistles to ready the warriors. The horses slowly made their way towards Corde and the Queen, as Cyan gave the signal to move in. As the circle closed, the horses began to sense their manipulation, but not until it was far too late. Cyan's yell broke through the silence as she and her warriors appeared almost magically from the landscape.
Corde and the Queen flipped from the trees onto the backs of two stallions breaking at the edge of their circle. Vicky and Labris each isolated a horse of their own, running alongside until flipping up into their mounts. The rest of the horses continued to scatter as the Queen looked around frantically…
(Q) "Where the he..." Corde looked over at the Queen knowing full well that swearing was not acceptable in their tribe. She herself had created a complete swear word thesaurus for just that reason… "Where the henbane snorting, bacchae slaying is StudBoy? We're losing the horses! Labris! Corde! Get Matt and StudBoy a horse before they all disappear! Vicky, help me find StudBoy will ya?"
The Amazons split up again, as Cyan and Vicky raced back towards the trees. They hadn't gone far when they saw StudBoy standing with a beautiful woman in the middle of a small clearing. Cyan and Vicky, both a little startled, glanced over at one another.
(V) "Figures! Acres and acres of trees and StudBoy finds the Maiden in distress!"
Both Cyan and Vicky chuckled, but each knew the other was wondering how the woman could have gotten there without anyone seeing her. Cyan got down from her mount and approached StudBoy and the woman.
(Q) "What happened here Stud?"
(SB) "Cyan, this is Maid Marion. She was just about to enter the clearing when we rushed the horses. I was concerned that she might be injured if the horses were startled into running her way…" the StudBoy winked at the Queen …"I was merely thinking of her safety."
The Queen stood solemnly as she did her best to shift positions to hide any weapons that might alarm the woman. They did not need a frightened villager alerting the world to their existence.
(Q) "That was extremely thoughtful of you Stud, and I'm sure she is most appreciative for your assistance; but we must be making our way now. It will be getting dark soon, and I would like to cover as much ground today as we can."
The Queen turned to leave, with Vicky close behind.
(SB) "If it's all the same to you Cyan, I would like to see Maid Marion safely back to her home. I will catch up with you before the rise of the next sun."
Cyan's back stiffened as her fists clenched. She slowly turned to face her warrior. "And what exactly will you catch up to us on Stud? Were you able to secure a horse as well as save the Maiden? For the sake of time, and all that there is to do, I still think it would be best if we left straight away." Cyan turned around, and once again she and the Princess began to walk back towards their horses.
StudBoy ran up behind the Queen and grabbed her lightly by the arm. Cyan turned around to face him, with every intent on stopping him before he even got started.
(SB) "Please, Cyan. I can't explain it, but I know it's the right thing to do…"
(Q) "You have a full team here with a specific directive, how do you plan on accomplishing it all if you aren't even headed in the right direction? Sherwood Forest, and the helping of Robin Hood to fight Prince John, that's why we're here."
The Queen saw a slight twinkle in the Stud's eyes as Labris and Corde rode into the clearing. Cyan looked over at the woman. She had not stopped staring at the two warriors since they had begun talking. It seemed that StudBoy had found himself a new admirer, and the away team, a new leader.
Cyan flipped backwards and up onto her horse. The Queen stared down at her warrior as she signaled for Labris…
(Q)"Give him the horse. I think you'll find that this will help you make better time to Maid Marion's home. We will wait for you at the edge of the forest no later than tomorrow's sun. Oh, and Stud, I will not accept any more delays."
The Queen turned her horse and exited the clearing as StudBoy turned to face Maid Marion.
(SB) "It seems I will be able to accompany you after all."
Maid Marion smiled at the Stud as he leapt onto the horse and extended his hand toward hers. She settled comfortably in behind him, as he turned the horse towards her home. Everything seemed greener, brighter, with a sense of something new in the air…
(MM) "Where's StudBoy?" Matt asked, as the team rode up and dismounted.
Each of the warriors glanced around trying to hide their smirks. The Queen grumbled a quick "Long story, we'll explain on the way.."
(MM) "Fine by me. Glad to see you were able to get some good horses. We're a bit further away than we thought we were, but should be able to get to the right spot of forest edge by nightfall."
(Q) "Good. Let's mount up - Matt you lead the way. The rest of you, do what you can to hide your weapons from sight. We don't want to call attention to ourselves any more than need be."
The warriors began their ride across the beautiful landscape of North Nottinghamshire staying as concealed as they could from wandering eyes. Regardless of their attempts however, neither time nor place would ever change the fact that they were Amazons….and Amazons drew attention wherever they went.
(MM) "My Queen, I sense something… something in the air…"
(L) "Yah! Its called love Matt! …Love is in the air!"
The group of Amazons laughed as they continued riding towards Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood…
The Queen smiled, "Love! ……what an inconvenience!"
