History ::
In 1999 two old friends, Chris (guitars) and Walter
(drums) decided to form a band. Walter brought along Johny to do the vocals, Raf
A. became 2nd guitarist. Scarred Mind played their first gig in august '99,
playing only covers and without a bassplayer.
By the end of '99 Aggressive Culture bass player Tweeva agreed to help out. In
the spring of 2000 Walter left the band, so the next few gigs were played with
several session drummers, untill Ibanez turned up, a youngster who became
Scarred's one and only drummer.
Easy come, easy go; now that a drummer was found Tweeva decided to leave the
band due to lack of time. Stefan, bassplayer in Meadow played a couple of gigs
but a little while later Raf left the band, he's now lead guitarist with
Ashmolean. When Benny J. took over Raf's place the band decided to stop playing
covers and write their own songs. In februari 2001 Scarred went back on stage
with their own repertoire and session bassist Flip B. In august a demo CD -
"the Reaper's Image" - was recorded.
In september 2001 Scarred finally found a steady bassplayer in Bertmdvd, former
vocalist/guitarist with Bobby Peru and Aggressive Culture. During the next year
23 gigs were played untill Bertmdvd wanted to leave the band, Tom L. became the
new bassist, Bert would stay on untill Tom was ready to perform.
In the meantime Scarred was selected for the "BMU/Throne of Belgium"
concours, they won the preselection together with Ashmolean. Two weeks before
the Throne of Belgium finals Benny J. had to leave the band, Bertmdvd agreed to
take over the guitar for 3 more gigs and Tom had to go on stage a little earlier
then he expected. Later on Bert changed his mind and decided to stay on as
guitarist so Scarred Mind is complete again. In the summer of 2003 Scarred will
record a CD wich will hopefully be released in the fall.
