Introduction: So, you want to locate MOTU toys...

Well, i think it is safe to say that finding he-man in various places, whether it be old,or new will not be difficult, with the new series emerging this summer. However, there are a few slight details, and hot spots where you can find quality toys, and collector's items.

Thrift stores:Enter the Nostalgic paradise

Im talking about thrift stores that sell outdated clothing, that your parents would be ashamed to wear, a shrine for those to wish to dig up the past, while saving money. If you are locating Series 1 & 2 figures, These shops are the best place to explore, FIRST.

Remember, there were various MOTU merchandise during the 80's.So, look in the clothing section ( for the hardcore collectors),the book section (for ladybird,or golden books, possibly comics),and the house section to look for comforters, blankets, or curtains, with the MOTU logo.

It is a slim to none chance you will find a packaged figure, playset, or beast. Its also very rare to find weapons, and such, but it is possible.Thrift stores, are the best for loose figure collecting, however, the figures may be in need of repair or re-furnishing.

Flea Markets: 2nd best choice

If you would like to find packaged, mint, or close-to-mint figures, and beasts, maybe even playsets, then i suggest you go to flea markets. There is a 60 % chance you will find something packaged, or maybe even all in one piece. However, here are some things to suspect while crusin' the flea markets:

1) pricing will be higher

2) beware of frauds, or imatations, inspect the package, and toy closely.

There is a chance, limbs were replaced by limbs of other toys, or it may just be a wrestler figure.

Most likely, the flea markets will have the big stuff, such as playsets, or beasts.

3) Also, inspect the figure for weakness in the limbs, or glued- on parts. If it is in a plastic case, tell the merchant, you will not buy unless you can hold it.There have been some instances where i have bought some figures that broke not too soon after handling. If the limbs are weak, then the price should be dropped.

Ebay: MOTU over the net

Ebay is the best bet you have for finding figures, and other MOTU merchandise, also, read carefully for the condition of the item, and examine for frauds.IE: "He-man-like monsters or figures" Try to get all you can from the seller, or the pictures.

Happy bidding!

Garage Sales: The 'Once in a great while" thing

Once in a great while will there be MOTU at a garage sale, if there is, then there is a great chance, that it will be cheap, and the seller just wants it outta there, so your in luck, with that.If the figure just has minor wear, then i suggest you fix it up, but if it goes to far into wear, then maybe using it for spare parts will do?

The New Wave: Easy

Commemorative re-issues are slowly fading away,as the new series is almost upon us.So, you might find some good ones left in the store right now,and i am pretty sure, they will all be gone around late jan.2002.

So, it is best to salvage what you can.

He-man/battle-cat,Skeletor/panthor:

These are one of the first series they released.

You can find these at the comic and collectible shops, but most likely at an outrageous price.

5-packs:

This was especially for toys-r-us, and if you can't find them there, then using amazon/toys-r-us.com will be best for a definate purchase. But hurry, just so many where made.

10 packs:

You can find these at the flea markets, or comic/collectible stores, but at a ridiculous, ludicrous price other than that, JC penny has sold out of them.

Other Commemoratives:

There are very few left scattered around various places(see list). You can hope to find "Stratos" , "Clawful",and "zodac",but the others are rare, if any.Ask the store for details, other than that, go back to the comic/collectible stores, where the price will be $20 higher then the orginal asking.

Commemorative series can be found at :

Toys -r-us

Target

Wal-mart

K-Mart

Kay bee toy stores

various local collectible shops

selective flea markets

Any other places are rare, and suprising.

The New series can be found also at the above places, this is the mark of the begining, i suggest we, as he-man fans, start it out right this time.

If you wish to have an entire collection, then here's a speculating availability chart.

He-Man : Find this one first, he-man will the most popular, and will be the first to go at any store.

Skeletor: same goes for him.

heroic warriors: orko, and man-at-arms will be hard to find, as well as teela.

Evil villains: you might find an abundance of villains.

NOTE: I suggest you save up money.

Masters of the Universe İMattel,and/or Filmation.
