1986 Olds Cutlass Salon

This was my second car. I bought it in 1993 and sold it about a year later. Features included 307ci V8, 200 4-R overdrive, and a full complement of power accessories. The Salon option included bucket seats, console, rally gauges, rally wheels, sport steering wheel, F41 suspension and blacked out grilles and headlight bezels. This is the one car that I really, really regret selling. It was a real straight, tight, solid car, with no rust or dents. Even the paint was original, which is commendable, being that GM had a lot of paint problems in the 80s, especially with gray and silver. This car would be killer with the drivetrain I currently have in the Monte. I saw this car about a year ago, and it was a mess. Oh well.

1984 Buick Regal

I bought this car in 1996 for $200. The original 231 V6 had a major oil leak. I had a 327 small block Chevy motor taking up space in my garage, so I threw it in the Regal. When the car was first fired, the orginal 6 cylinder radiator blew coolant into the automatic trans lines, and that was it for the transmission. A junkyard TH-350 lasted about two weeks. Then I had to pay for a rebuild. This car had a Lunati cam, Performer intake, Holley vacuum secondary 750, headers, loud 2-chamber Flowmaster mufflers and Autometer guages. This was my everyday driver for about a year until I sold it. The kid I sold it to crashed it a few years later.

1985 Olds 442

This was just like the Cutlass Salon, except it also had a High Output 307 and a 8.5" (same as a Grand National) rear. It had a 3.73 ratio, but it was not a posi. Another feature that surprised me was the stock air shocks in the rear. The filling nozzle was behind the license plate. This car was all stock except for true dual exhaust and the centerline champ 500 rims. It had a lot of rust, so I sold it.
