Shopping
Mood:  cool
Shopping are the most favorites activities for the female. Some researches in US even did a research on it, and come up with the terminology call “Shopaholic” for the female that addicted to shopping.

This web http://www.yournewromance.com/shopaholicquiz.html even provide quiz to test or proved that you are addicted to shopping or not (as a guideline or standard).

Finding for the researches, shopping activities tracking back to the ancients time (stone age) when the men were go out for hunting and the female and going for fruits collection and taking care of the children at the home which is at the cave. So when the female go for fruit collection, they take time to select and choose the best for the family. This gives satisfaction to the female.

Modern female treat shopping as leisure, social activities and reduce stress. When settle the bill, they don’t even blink their eyes like the cowboy gun fighter. Draw out their wallet and hand over the credit card and the next things the machine clicking sound and bill generate and their put the signature and the bill is settle (Like the John Woo action movie gun fight scene in slow motion the good guy draw the gun and shot the next moment the bad guy die).

Due to the shopping habit, the female are divide into two groups… one group is their account are always in the red, need to struggle to paid back their debt for the bank, the other group work smart and maintain good habit on spending.

So base on the economic theories… when economic is down spending more will improve the situation provided that the whole nation is doing that. Beside when economic down turn if the individual have enough saving this giving the individual more spending power.

My teenage era
Mood:  a-ok
My teenage era around 80’s… all the things… or my world are fill with Hong Kong TV series, Songs, Movies, Books and Comics and not formal education.

In my hometown at the 80’s Hong Kong TV series were dominance the entertainment for the family. This because is cheap and economical. Imagine you spent about 2 bucks to rent a video (those TV series) and play it after the dinner. Whole family were setting down at the hall and watching it. Once a while having a discussion about the show and this is how the whole family interact with each other most of the time. That how most of the family killing their time during the 80’s.

Beside that, all songs and music’s are from Hong Kong… The books I read also from Hong Kong. So my world is fill with Hong Kong culture. I don’t denies that once a while I watch Western or American movies… Like Star War… James Bond’s Series… Indiana Jones and So on. But Hong Kong is my world and my world is Hong Kong.

This is the world I live in before I leave my hometown to another country to work and seek for better opportunities.

Badminton? primary school activities
Mood:  cheeky
I was playing badminton since my primary school day. Surprise to say that I’m the school representative for the badminton team and won a first runner up before and was a honor for the my school. My primary school was not a famous school in town and it was try to establish as a top ranking school and better learning environment at that time.

Everyday after school is the training session… the school even recruits a professional trainer to train us. Besides that every Saturday half-day training session is compulsory. Training is fun for all the team players. For the boy you get to play the game you like is consider a blessing and we are very happy about it.

Training is getting intense and prepare for the competition and the trainer arrange a friendly game with another school. The end result for the friendly game was not very promising, a tough fight but lose. Then more training was arrange to boost the skills, stamina’s, tactics and strategies.

When the final competition comes, the team was able to advanced to the final. When the school heard about the team advanced to the final of the competition, although never get the Champaign but the headmaster still announce it on the following Monday school assembly and all the badminton team players were invited to the stage as a compliment of the achievement. The headmaster giving a very inspiring speech on how the team able to achieve what we have today is a moral boost for the staffs of the school and the student because through hard work and determination we will able to achieve what we set. With this story we the badminton team set an example for the rest of the students.

My primary school days
Mood:  happy
I remember when first day go to school I was crying. That day was raining. (Not a good to go to school). Before going to school my parent buy all the stuffs for me and I feel very happy during that time but when the actual days come was disappointed that I cry. I don’t know why I cry… maybe chicken out because school is a strange place and no freedom to talk and eat as a wish as at home.

But my father accompany and try to encourages me throughout the first two weeks and after that start to used to it. But still don’t like to go school, everytime reach home lazy to do homework. Pester my father to teach me and hold my hand to write because the homework is too difficult to do and so on.

During school holiday… teachers assign homework for the school holidays were forever never finish in time… because always very playful until no time to finish. Although very lazy in all aspects, I ever ask my parent about my result during the primary school days. The answer from my parent was still acceptable… I don’t how to define acceptable under my parent standard. I guess I never rank the last in the class before so was consider acceptable for them.

I able to remember and still fresh in my memories that since primary 3 onward my score and rank always the top 15 in the class and throughout my primary school days the highest that I can achieved was 5 in the class during my primary 6.

First video in the family and my first X-rated movie
Mood:  flirty
My family had the first colour TV was some where around early 80’s and the first video player was in the mid 80’s.

Most of the time… my parent and the rest of the family members watching video after dinnertime and in the weekends my brother and me can have extra viewing hour until the midnight.

When my brother first buy the video from his friend electronic shop. A delivery appointment was set and was in the weekend. Two complimentary movies were come along with the video set that’s was told by salesman (my brother friend). After setting up the video player a documentary was play for testing after the documentary over my parent suggested that all family members should go rest except my brother and me wanted to continue with the next show (because that time me and my brother sleep at the hall), but my parent warn that need to rest for at least 15 minutes then continue with the next video.

Here come the interesting part… the second movie was an X-rated movie during that time. The movie title is “The Blue Lagoon” act by Brooke Shield. As a young boy during that time, watch X-rated movie will feel exciting and the heart keep bouncing, throat feel dry, face turn red and feel horny (waahahah… no doubt about it. Sometimes even wet dream? Not sure about wet dream during that time :p).

Imagine as a young boy first time saw a naked ladies and the erotic scene, the above mention feeling will sure have. I guess most of the guys and girls have these kinds of experiences.

Leisure activities? Reading
Mood:  bright
I start reading novels and books since I was young. This habit was influenced from my siblings and my farther. If I’m not wrong… when I was 10 years old, grandparent black and white TV was spoil due to the lighting strike and send for repair for a couples of days. Since no TV to watch everyone in the family start to read again and did other leisure activities such as play chess and etc.

I choose to read, because I’m the youngest in the family and all my siblings were busy with their activities. Dare not disturbed their activities. So I borrow a book from the school library and start to read. Since then never stop reading.

When I was in the primary school, I was addicted to Chinese wuxia xiaoshuo (Chinese swordsman). Some of my favorite Chinese authors were Gu Long and Jin Yong.

When I was in the secondary school, start to excel to other books such as science fiction and detective. From these reading, have a great impact on my life. Imagine a kampong boy, don’t know how the world works and the only leisure activities were go to movies once a while. The only asset and the biggest asset is through reading gain more knowledge, build up creative thinking and philosophy of life.

Entertainment or Torture?
I guess everyone have the same feeling like this, imagine you paying about 8 or less dollars (depend which day of the week) to watch a horror movie. Is this entertainment or torture for you?

Most of the ladies like to watch horror movies, and I still don’t know why. Maybe ladies are the contradicting creature that why this kinds of movies suite them.

For me, horror movies are full of negative forces. Such as fears, sabotages, jealous, greed, revenges, angers, and etc. All these kinds of negative forces influence our day-to-day activities for the long run. For some religions believe that watching horror movies is a form of communication to the evils forces.

In our life already full of negative news and negative thinking… especially media… everyday in the newspaper, TV, radios and etc… keep telling us that our society having so much problems and so little solutions… these included…. rob, fight, war, rape, arson, jobless, disease, natural disaster and the list go on… So why pay money to get torture us?

Watching movies is a form of entertainment and horror movies does not suit these propose (some may argue get yourself scare is a form of entertainment also… HALLO… not many people have the SM tendency ok!)

When the East meet the West
Teenagers losing their own cultures and families values are the new phenomenon. For examples… their view on sex, family values, values of money and heavy metal music, rap song that promote violence’s and etc…

All the above mentions are influences from the Western or America cultures. Teenagers’ spending money without control… buying expensive hand phone, branded attire, spending hundred dollars on their hand phone bills (all these are hard earn money from the parents), straying around at the streets or shopping center after schools and not respect the elder’s and the lists will go on and on…

After WWII, Asians or we are slowly accepting the influences of the Western or America culture. We benefits from these move, our living standard are improving. More and more people have education and enjoy economics growth and most of the basic needs are able to fulfill but not so luxuries.

Family values are taught by the parents and the children were more obedience and accept the traditional culture at the same time observe the changes or influences by the Western or America culture. Women are having the equal right as men. (Women movement claims that).

This is the first generation that benefits from the changes and the second generations were growing up in these environments.

When the second generation came to join the work forces and form their own families. Some of the traditional values are still able to maintain and the third generation are growing up in these era trend to losing their traditional values more and more. This is because live changes Western or America culture eroding the traditional culture. Some even think the traditional cultures are out dated and never pass down to the next generation. In the third generation, some of them don’t even know how to speak their mother tongue and learn their own language.

Because of Western or America cultures… Teenagers are more rebellious; basically they are misunderstanding the meaning of freedom of the Western or America cultures.

Parents are struggling to bring food back to home and the kids are spending like no body business, disobey the parent guidance’s. Family values are not been taught or pass down from the parent this make the situation worst.

Some of the parent’s think that the school taught this. (Sorry to said that our education system only teaching the children basic education… like sciences, mathematic and general knowledge but family values… I personally think that ministry of education will think that no value added or benefits to the current education system or our economic, the ministry still think that family values should let the parents to lead and guild). [I maybe wrong on this issue]

In the parent’s minds, feel guilty when not enough time to spend with their children and their own childhood were not so luxuries, so they are giving what they can afford to fulfill or compensate their children.

Are we really benefits to accept the Western or America culture or losing more then what we expects?

Getting old?
We're getting old, right? You guys still talk about Doraemon whereas kids today talk about Pokemon. We are from the Doraemon generation and they are from the Pokemon generation.

Let's see. The majority of students in universities today were born in 1983.... They are called "youth". For them, They have never heard of "We are the World, we are the Children..." And the "Uptown Girl" they know is by Westlife not Billy Joel.

For them, there have always been only one Germany and only one Vietnam. AIDS exists since they were born. CD exists since they were born. Michael Jackson is already whitened.

John Travolta is always round in shape and they can't imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance. They believe that Charlie's Angels and Mission Impossible are just new films out last year.

They can never imagine a black and white screen for a computer. They never know Pac-Man. They can't believe a black and white television ever existed and they don't even know how to switch on a TV without a remote control. And they never understand how we could go out without a mobile phone when we were in university...

Let's check if we're getting old...

1. You understand what was written above and you smile.

2. You need to sleep more, until afternoon, after a night out.

3. Your friends are getting married.

4. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computer.

5. When you see teenagers with mobile phones, you shake your head.

6. You developed more and more feelings about your work. It's now your life.

7. You spend less and less time talking on phone with your friends daily.

8. You meet your friends from time to time, talking about the good old days, repeating again and again all funny stories your experienced together.

9. Having read this, you are thinking of sharing it to some other friends. You think they will like it too.....

Ha..ha...ha....Yes, I'm getting old too.

The above article or email are sharing from my friend.
