IJLW Brazil 3

Vs

Henderson B 1

Team: Andrews, Churchley. Kennedy, Charge, Fox, Belcher, G. Clark, P. Clark, Smith, Blair, Harrison.

Subs: Donkin, Fenwick.

Brazil have beaten Henderson once and drew with them last season we looking to get their first points of the campaign, unfortunately the ref decided not to turn up so that all went out the window, so a moral boasting friendly win was needed.

Brazil took immeditate control of the game with G. Clark getting forward well and supporting the front 2 of Blair and Harrison. After 4 mins, Smith spotted G. Clark out wide to send an inch perfect pass to him and he ran on to shrug off one challenge before cool slotting it past the keeper 1-0. Brazil continued to push forward with Blair inparticular causing the Henderson defence problems, one such run saw Blair get to the by line and cross it, the cross was half cleared to Belcher on the edge of the area who drilled a low shot into the bottom corner of the net 2-0. A glorious run by Smith from midfield beating at least 5 Henderson players did’nt get the goal it deserved as the keeper parried the shot out for a corner. Brazil at this point were looking comfortable and the first round of substitutions by the Boss seemed to upset their tempo and they went to sleep allowing Henderson back into the game when they should have burried them. Half Time.

Another substitution saw Fenwick come on for the Boss Belcher, Brazil carved out one or two chances but lacked the belief of the first half as things began to get ragged. A controversial penalty was awarded against Brazil, (by one of our own players who was reffing!!). Andrews like the week before read the kick but saw it squeeze under his body. 2-1. Spurred on by this fortutus goal Henderson lay siege to the brazil goal with Andrews called to make some world class saves. More subs saw Harrison and Belcher come back on and replace the Clark's, as Brazil sought to stop the equaliser. A Quick break after a Henderson corner saw Blair run from the half way line and take it around the keeper to roll the ball into the net. 3-1. Both Smith and Belcher were involved in heated exchanges with Henderson players late on, notably Belcher after telling Smith to calm down proceeded to try and fight their Centre half. Brazil had a couple of chances late on, particlarly Blair, but their keeper saved well.

Final score 3-1.
