McCord Power Plate Installation

Notes The experience that I had with the exhaust cut-out on my 1994 Z28 was great, with one exception. I hated crawling under the car to uncap it. I wasn't able to do it until the car cooled down, and I was guaranteed to get a hand full of carbon. So, when I decided to put one on my 2000 T/A I knew that there must be a solution out there. I found several companies that made electronic cut-outs. I chose to go with the MPP-II. Some people had trouble with an earlier version of this unit, but the problems have been addressed. It is also backed by a good warranty and Keith is a good person to work with. As you will see in the pictures on the right, I had a custom cut-out welded into my Corsa cat-back system. This way, everything is stainless or aluminum so there will be no rust problems like there are with the old fashioned painted steel cut-outs. One of the coolest parts of the whole set-up is that Keith wired the plate to a GM convertible top switch. This allowed me to use a new GM plastic bezel inside the car to mount the switch right next to my TCS switch. It has a great factory look, and the light inside of the switch tells you when the door is open, closed, or partially open.
