So, you want to know more about me huh? Well, there's not that much to tell. In case you didn't figure it out my name is Jen. Hi, nice to meet you. I'm a junior English major at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. If you don't bother to check out the link, I'll tell you a little bit about Wooster here.
The College of Wooster is a small liberal arts college located in Wooster, Ohio. Wooster, Ohio is located an hour away from Cleveland and about an hour and a half from Columbus if that gives you any kind of perspective at all. It's a pretty agricultural type place with quite a few farms, cows, and cornfields. Also, when you start to enter Wooster you begin to get into Amish country. (PS- For all of you wondering how the hell the Amish got online, don't ask me. I just kind of found Amish.net. I highly doubt that anyone Amish has had a thing to do with its creation. Just a disclaimer.) UPDATE I recently got an e-mail from Amish.net. Check that out here.
Anyway, I'm an English major at The College of Wooster and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. Actually, that's a lie. There are many things that I could imagine myself doing and actually a few majors I thought about before becoming an English major (Computer Science, Political Science, Women's Studies) but English was and is my first love. I have always loved reading and writing (check out some of my writing here).
Hmm...what else can I tell you. I'm 21 years old and I must say that it is a heck of a lot better to be 21 than 20. Of course I felt the same way when I turned 18, but 21 has definitely been one for the books. As stated earlier I love to write poetry and stories and I love to read novels and anthologies of various styles. Aside from being a world famous DJ I also find time to sing in Wooster's gospel choir, be a senator for the Student Government Association which I was made PRESIDENT of for next year (gotta love the power!!!), be involved in Campus Council, and volunteer with an amazing family every morning.
Pretty busy right? Well that doesn't even scratch the surface. As SGA president next year I'm hopingt o continue making changes, I'm going to take some fun and interesting classes for my senior year, and continue with all of my extra-curriculars. That is of course if I get through my Junior Independent Study first.
And, oh yes, I will have a good time doing it. There will be the late night conversations, the nights of drinkin' at the Underground or in a friend's room, the walks to and from class, the homework sessions, the snowball fights, the dinners, the hugs, the parties, the dances, the pictures, and much much much much more. It's my personal philosophy that you should study hard and do well, but never never never let that interfere with your good time. College is the only 4 years of your life where you're really not responsible for anything or anyone but yourself. Don't blow it by failing out, but don't sit home on a Saturday night and miss a party because you have a test on Monday. The people you are here with today will be gone tomorrow and graduation happens before you know it. Live life to the fullest, make each day count. No regrets.
