Diaphanous lace curtain wafts on the breeze
Slowly flapping
Eyelashes on an indolent eye.

I luxuriate in the hammock of my solitude
Lazily swinging to and fro
Considering how people in my life
Drift further and further away
Each passing day
Ships venturing from the docks
Expanses of wide open water
Drifting them out to sea,
Current seducing them
Away from me.

I wave a languorous goodbye.
I no longer grieve
The absence of proximity.

I embrace my one-ness
And resume
My swinging.
