It's Football Season! The Carolina Panthers are STILL undefeated. Wow! I hear many people saying, "Oh they are going to do really well this season!" Personally, I think of how they did last season. When you look back, you see that the Panthers started out with a 3-0 record before their first loss, but how did they do in the long run? NOT TO WELL! So you be the judge of them. How will the Panthers do this season? Let me know what you think!

NC State Football-The Pack is back! NC State went 11-3 last season with a 5-3 record in the ACC> As I was reading my ESPN magazine, I couldn't help seeing that the Wolfpack was number 10 in the power 16. The Pack has a couple of great rookies that chose State over other major schools. They are Tramin Hall and Richard Washington. We will most likely see big things from these guys. Go get 'em Pack!

What can I say about the Maryland Terapins? Other than the fach that they ate about the best college in the ACC, the Terps are great at what they do. Sports-wise, Maryland excels in every sport they play. Take football for example: the Terps had an 11-3 record with a 6-2 record in the ACC. To all Terps fans, I congratulate you for supporting a great sports team and a wonderful school.

East Carolina has yet to win this season and Saturday was no exception. Wake Forest regained their confidence after their loss last Saturday. Wake took a wonderful and well-needed victory over East Carolina. The score was 34-17. Wake Forest now has a 3-1 record, and East Carolina a 0-3. Wake has defeated East Carolina four out of six times they have played. Way to go Demon Deacons!

The Panthers (5-0) have now won seven straight games dating to last season and are one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the NFL. The others are Kansas City (6-0) and Minnesota (5-0). Stephen Davis gave the Carolina Panthers a running start Sunday, then DeShaun Foster took over. The Panthers’ tag-team running attack bowled over Indianapolis defenders, broke tackles, and eventually set up a 47-yard winning field goal from John Kasay to keep the Panthers unbeaten with a 23-20 overtime win.

As of Sunday night, the World Series is tied 1-1, with the Marlins taking the first win, and the Yankees taking the second.
Saturday night, Florida beat New York 3-2. The Marlins scored once in the first inning and twice in the fifth, and New York scored once in each the third and sixth innings.
Sunday night, the Yankees took an early lead with three runs in the first inning. The Marlins remained scoreless until the ninth inning, where they got one run, but only after the Yankees had scored three more times, giving New York a 6-1 win.

Issue 8

On Saturday night the Florida Marlins won their second world series, beating the Yankees four games to two at Yankee Stadium.
23 year-old Marlin pitcher Josh Beckett added his name to the all-time-greats list Saturday night, playing a key part in Florida‘s victory. Beckett was the 10th pitcher in the last 60 years to throw a complete-game shutout in a World Series-deciding game; he was the fourth-youngest pitcher ever to do so; and he was, not surprisingly, the first pitcher to do it before he'd thrown his first shutout in the regular season.
