Cranberry Jell-O Salad 
Goodmama, California

  • 1 large pkg  Raspberry Jell-O
  • 2   cups     water (or see note)    
  • 1  20 oz.  can crushed pineapple in own juices -- drained
  • 1  can whole cranberry sauce    
  • 1  cup port wine
  • 1  cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup light sour cream&
  • 1 8 oz. pkg  Philadelphia Light Cream Cheese
  • 2/3  cup  powdered sugar

Boil water or water/juice combination; stir in Jell-O until dissolved. Cool in refrigerator until soft set.

Whip softened Jell-O with a beater and then add the drained pineapple, cranberry sauce, wine and nuts (if using).

Pour into pretty glass serving bowl and return to the refrigerator for a few hours until set.

In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese and powdered sugar and blend well. Spread on top of  cranberry Jell-O salad.

NOTES : 

  • Instead of water, you can use a combination of water and pineapple juice. Also, you can omit the walnuts if you do not like them or someone is allergic to nuts. 

  • You can also divide this recipe into two dishes, and serve one dish with the nuts (obviously using 1/2 cup of nuts) and the other without the nuts.
