Honeyed Pumpkin Pie with Broiled Praline Topping

This is just delicious!

Crust: 1 Pie crust (either store bought or homemade)

Filling: 
  • 1 (16 oz.) can (2 cups) pumpkin 
  • 1 cup honey 
  • 3/4 tsp salt          
  • 3/4 tsp nutmeg          
  • 1/4 tsp all spice          
  • 4 eggs          
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk

 

Topping:
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans          
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs butter, melted

1) Have the pie crust ready, preferable using 10-inch deep dish pie pan.

2) Heat oven 10 375F. In large bowl, combine pumpkin, honey, salt, nutmeg and allspice; mix well. Add eggs; blend well. Gradually add milk, beating at low speed until well blended. Pour into pie crust-lined pan.

3) Bake at 375F for 45 to 55 min. or until edges are set. Cool completely on wire rack.

4) In small bowl, combine all topping ingredients; sprinkle over top of cooled pie. Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until topping is bubbly.
