Beef Stew
Lynann, Ohio

  • 1 lb. cut up beef (I usually use sirloin or round steak) 
  • 1 cup carrots 
  • 1 cup potatoes, cut into 1/8 inch cubes 
  • 1 large onion, chopped 
  • 1 cup celery 
  • 2 cups hot water 
  • 2 tsp tapioca 
  • 1 8oz can tomato sauce 
  • salt and pepper to taste 

Put all ingredients into Dutch oven. Cover with lid and do not uncover for 3 hours.  

Stir stew and serve. 

I usually add more vegetables than this calls for and sometimes a little more juice.
