  Hamburger Soup
Kat, Washington

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 

  • 4 carrots, chopped finely

  • 1 medium onion, chopped finely

  • 1 bay leaf 

  • 1 28 oz can tomatoes           

  • 3 stalks celery, chopped finely

  •  2 cups water                   

  • parsley 

  • 3 cans consommé or beef broth  

  • 1/2 tsp thyme 

  • 1 can tomato soup             

  • 8 tbsp barley 

Brown meat and onions. 

Drain fat. 

Combine all ingredients in large pot. 

Simmer covered at least 2 hrs or all day. 

Serves 10, freezes well.
