Bulgur Pilaf
tgray, Texas

Bulgur is a wheat product.
You can usually find it in bulk at health food stores.
Once you try it, you will be hooked!
It does take a while to cook, but oh, it's so worth the wait and trouble!

  • 1 cup Bulgur

  • 1 tsp oil or margarine

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1/2 package frozen carrots and peas

  • 1/2 stalk celery, chopped.

Sauté the onion until it's clear and pretty.

Stir in the celery, peas and carrots.

Add the bulgur and the chicken broth.

Bring to a boil.  Lower temperature, cover and simmer for approximately 40 minutes.   Fluff with a fork.
