2 Tone Chocolate Chip Cookies
Renee, California

These will stay chewy for a couple of days if they last that long!

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix flour, baking soda, and salt together, set this bowl aside. 

Mix the butter and sugar together (use an electric mixer) for about 1 minute.

 Beat in the egg and vanilla until smooth....slowly beat in the dry ingredients, then stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if you use them)

For each cookie, drop approx.. 1/4 cup of batter on a ungreased cookie sheet. 

Use the bottom of a glass to slightly flatten the cookie dough. 

Bake for 15-18 minutes, enjoy either warm or cool!
