Tomato Soup Cake

 Any of you who watch Passions, has heard of this! 
BUT, this is MY grandfathers recipe.

• 1/2 c shortening 

• 1 c sugar 

• 1 can undiluted tomato soup 

• 2 c flour 

• 1 tsp baking soda 

• 2 tsp baking powder 

• 1 tsp cinnamon 

• 1/2 tsp ground clove 

• 1/2 tsp nutmeg 

• 1 c raisins 

• 1 c chopped nuts of your choice. 

Cream shortening and sugar.  

Sift dry ingredients together.  

Add alternately with soup.  

Add nuts and raisins, and pour into 9" tube or loaf pan. 

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, lower to 325 for last 15 minutes. 

Cool, Frost, and let ripen for 24 hours before cutting.  

I would use a cream cheese icing for this cake.
