Crock
Pot Apple Butter
Peel and core apples. Chop them VERY finely. I bought a small food processor for $10 and it works wonderfully for this. Place apples in crock pot. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook on low for 9 to 11 hours, stirring occasionally. Once it is dark brown and very thick, uncover and cook for one more hour. Process your jars and lids for 10 minutes in a HOT water bath. Put the apple butter in the jar. Wipe the top clean and put the lid on. In a few minutes, you should hear a pop as the top seals.
