Goodmama's Teriyaki Marinade

We love teriyaki and it goes well with beef, chicken and even salmon! Teriyaki sauce is simple to make, but PLEASE only use Kikkoman soy sauce. There's just no comparing it to less expensive sauces!

  • 1/2 cup Kikkoman soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup dry sherry or saki

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder

  • 4 large cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon of minced fresh ginger

Marinate all day or overnight.  DO NOT use the marinade at the table as additional sauce unless you first boil it for a few minutes and then strain it (to remove any scum which accumulates).
