Grilling Help

Grilling really is pretty easy once you experiment a little, .just like stovetop or oven cooking. You really can cook just about anything on the grill. Medium heat works best for most foods when using an outside propane grill. Things cook quicker than you would realize they do.  We cook most meats in 20-30 minutes. We don't use any special grilling tools or anything really, just a lot of heavy duty foil.  We, also,  spray the grill itself and the foil with cooking spray. 

For flavoring you can make marinade with just about anything your family likes. We use a lot of pineapple juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, barbeque sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, butter, Cajun spice, lemon juice,  and bottled Italian dressing. You will need to experiment to see what your family likes. 

One thing I do with potatoes (whole with the skin on) is I put them in the microwave for about 10 minutes (the big Idaho bakers) before I wrap them in foil and put them on the grill so they don't take so long.

For veggies, we just wrap (seal) all veggies in foil and use whatever you like: butter, lemon juice, garlic powder, etc. I like to keep the veggies moist with some butter or lemon, lime or pineapple juice.  Apple juice works good too. 

In about 1/2 hour, we are putting chicken for the kids, pork chops for me and a beef filet for my husband, on the grill.  We are going to toss a salad and throw some mushroom rice in the microwave and dinner is served! 

I freeze meat in single serve portions so we can all have whatever we want for dinner and don't have to eat the same meat!
