Chocolate Cake
Joyce, British Columbia, Canada

This is a great cake and my family loves it.

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 c. hot water added last

Cream butter and add sugar gradually - cream until fluffy.

Add eggs and beat well.

Add vanilla.

Add dry ingredients.

Add very hot water last - the last few times have added water alternately with dry ingredients, it is easier to handle.

Bake in a 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 f.
