Pumpkin Carving Tips

Be sure to have lots of newspapers around your work area. It's really easy to just wrap up the "guts" and throw them out, when they are already on newspaper.

Print out a great picture of a witch, cat or a pumpkin face.

Blow it up on a copy machine.

With some thumbtacks, tack the picture to the front of the pumpkin.

Use a pushpin to poke holes in the pumpkin, tracing the lines.  Remove the paper when you are done.

Use a good, sharp, serrated knife to cut the lines.

You don't have to cut all the way thru the pumpkin. You can leave a thin layer of pumpkin for shading and added depth.
