Mr. Can't Get Right
Headlining in sports news for the past week are the comments between Lavar Arrington of the Washington Redskins and Warren Sapp where Warren called Lavar "Mr. Can't Get Right". Of course this was a line from a movie where Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy and a host of other stars played prison inmates that formed a baseball team whose star player just happened to be a charming young fellow who also happened to be challenged in more ways than one.

He (the Star)couldn't speak or think straight but he was able to get the contract, get girl and get out of prison. Unlike any of the others who spent every waking moment trying to do what "Mr. Can't Get Right" did without even trying.

It's funny how life is. Sometimes, it doesn't matter how hard we try or how competent we think we are, life throws a curve ball and we just "can't get right."

Some people in the NFL are giving Lavar and Warren pre-game warnings about the penalty's of running through another team's line and using abusive language. Officials are seriously anticipating the possibility of trouble.

While, others on the other hand, take this whole conversation as young men having a little fun. That's why it's good to have a sense of humor. Lavar Arrington and Warren Sapp are just talking trash. (I think. I hope :-smile)

But seriously folks, just for today, don't take yourself so SERIOUSLY. Like this little story, Life doesn't always make sense. Don't worry about it...just SMILE AWHILE

W.W.J.D. or should I say, H.W.J.V.
"What Would Jesus Do" may be more aptly stated "HOW WOULD JESUS VOTE".

I understand that we profess to live in a democracy as Americans, but when it comes to truly spiritual matters that are issues of the soul, opinions of the masses can be irrelevant at best.

What I mean is, making a decision about someones spirituality is difficult to impossible, especially if we rely on our common sense, emotions, or what we consider right and wrong as measured by society. Societal standards are fickle sometimes and are set by selfish motivations. But when we talk about what matters to God, we need a little help. In any religion, a standard is needed. In Christianity, that standard is the Bible. I'm not advocating judgement of others. We each have a standard by which we live. I'm merely suggesting that whatever standard that we decide to adhere to, we must first "to ourselves be true".

In the decision regarding acceptance of openly gay homosexuality in the church, one should really pray for understanding of what God really approves of. I am curious as to how the modern community views the passages below.

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Life is odd. We contiually proclaim victory and jubilation for acceptance of homosexuality but must time and time again hold our heads in shame and defeat if any simulance of Christianity rears it's head.

JOURNEY
Greetings and Welcome. First of all, communicating via this format is new for me. Those of you who have met me realize that I pride myself in being a quiet private person. However, on the flip side, you have also probably experienced me hemming you up in a corner laughing, talking and sharing on endless subjects as we wondered where the time went. There is so much to talk about. So with that understanding I decided to broaden our circle of communication and invite a few new friends and associates to join us on our little trek. I'm so happy for all that decide to join me on my journey of discovery. Walking along life's pathway inevitably causes interaction, whether it is with self, nature, other people, or God. Often these interactions cause joy, discomfort, pain, growth, introspection, etc. a myriad of emotions. But no matter what the effect, the cost of truly experiencing life is worth every expenditure of blood, sweat and tears. Soliloquy of Serenpidity was born out of this very concept. Simply living life leads to endless discoveries and lends to boundless topics of discussions. I look forward to you sharing at least a portion of the walk with me. Stay as long as you like. Borrow. Share. Be. Then let's talk about it.
