Healing Crystals For Children.

Below are listed ten Crystals that children can use for healing, for
seeking information, or for bringing about their own intuitive energies. Please be careful of small stones with the very young, for as not to create a choking hazard. Some children like to give the' taste test' to pretty stones.

Amethyst
This stone is considered to be a "Master Healing Crystal," and its healing quality is to purify and transmute all forms of negativity. Children that are in any transition: a physical growth spurt, experiencing a major disappointment, adjusting after a trauma or devastation, would do well having a piece of Amethyst on their person, or under their pillows at night, for the Amethyst will accept all negative emotions and will provide comfort and insight.
For physically or mentally disabled children, setting an Amethyst cluster in their room will keep negative energies at bay, maintaining a positively balanced state in their environment.

Apache Tear
This stone is considered to be "The Grief Stone." The Apache Tear is actually Obsidian. The color black means 'to let go' and children who have suffered through a traumatic experience such as their parent's divorce or the death of a loved one would do well to carry a piece of Obsidian, or sleep with one under their pillow. Apache Tear will clear the grief, help adjust to the new routine, give protection and will aid in comforting the child until he/she feels back on track with life.

Aventurine
This stone is considered the "Leadership Stone." Being this stone is green in color, it will provide a return of balance in female/male energies, bringing forth love and protection - like a nice big hug. Children who are timid or shy would do well with carrying a piece of Aventurine or sleeping with one under their pillow. The Aventurine will help those children to become active and initiate action on their own accord, thus aiding in relieving their shyness.
It is said that Asthmatic children who carry or use Aventurine stones find their lungs open up for easier breathing.



Carnelian
This stone is considered the "Self-Esteem Crystal." If a child is experiencing low self-esteem or a feeling of inadequacy, this dark orange stone will restore feelings of their self-worth, self-love and also self-security. The lighter shades of Carnelian are said to enhance their love for their parent(s) through self-acceptance.
Also, the Carnelian is used for dermatological ailments such as acne, by holding the stone over the skin and moving it in circles over the affected area for several minutes, several times a day.

Clear Quartz
This stone is considered to be the "Healing Crystal," with it being a natural all-purpose healer. Each Crystal has its own energy signature or healing mission, and there are numerous Crystals out there for numerous occasions.
When a child holds a crystal, she/he will feel its energy being discharged very slowly, or quite suddenly, feeling a little tingling in the hands or what is similar to an electric shock. It is said that this felt energy will transform a disharmonious thought pattern, burn off negative emotional states, or even place a spiritual seed for one's future into the intuitive.
Placing a Quartz Cluster in a child's environment is quite nice, for there are many different types of crystals in that cluster: record keepers, transmitters, channelers, etc. Too, a Crystal Cluster is helpful to organize scattered thoughts and to deflect negative energies.

Iron Pyrite
This stone is considered to be a "Protection Stone." Due to Iron Pyrite's shiny surface, children can view this stone as a mirror, and this mirror will
reflect negative energy. This stone is a great stone to bring forth a feeling of protection. The Iron Pyrite also brings forth a feeling of physical empowerment that life in a physical form is perfect and that love is abundantly around them. Have a child who is afraid of the dark, sleep with a piece of Iron Pyrite under their pillow for feelings of protection.


Rose Quartz
This stone is considered to be the "Love Stone." This stone is also a great all-purpose healer for children, especially for those who have numerous hurt feelings or aggressive tendencies due to experiencing trauma. It is stated that
the Rose Quartz can soothe a broken heart, by presenting reality in the way things actually are, rather than the way things are wanted.
This is a good stone for those who are hyper-active for the Rose Quartz will soothe erratic emotional states, anxiety, fear, compulsions and many other mental disorders.
Neurological benefits have also been noticed with the relaxation of muscle spasms when the Rose Quartz is guided over the nerve centers.
For the young hearts, the Rose Quartz will keep the heart chakra's open and protected, keeping out bad and negative energies. An excellent stone for those who are first experiencing Puppy Love.

Lapis Lazuli
This stone is considered to be a "Psychic Balance Stone." For children who show psychic gifts early in their life, the Lapis is an incredible stabilizer for them. The pretty deep blue color will stimulate the expansion of consciousness in a supportive way, prompting purification and clarity of spiritual insight. The Lapis will also provide self-acceptance of one's gifts, encourage openness of one's spiritual awareness, protection powers, and stimulation of all psychic senses.
Sleeping with a Lapis under your pillow will prompt anyone's spiritual awareness.


Jade
This stone is considered to be the "Soother of Emotions Stone." As Jade is easily accessible and can be openly worn by children as regular jewelry, the emotionally sensitive child often in need of a supportive system to

The following aromatic blends can be safely enjoyed after your first trimester to positively affect your overall physical and emotional well-being. Enjoy!
Morning Sickness
Select one of the following essential oils to alleviate nausea and queasiness. Inhale either directly from the bottle or pour up to 4 drops of one of the essential oils on a tissue and breathe in. Repeat as needed.
Peppermint
Spearmint
Lemon
Indigestion
Select one of the following essential oils to ease heartburn and gassy discomfort in your chest or abdomen. Inhale either directly from the bottle or pour up to 4 drops of one of the essential oils on a tissue and breathe in.
Peppermint
Cardamon
Lemon
Stretch marks
While it's true stretch marks cannot be prevented, this recipe can help ease the itching and discomfort associated with them. Pour the oil essences into a 60-ml bottle, and add organic vegetable oil to fill. Massage the area each morning and evening.

2 drops Rosewood
Skin problems

Edema
Swollen legs and feet, common in pregnancy and caused by the build-up of fluid, can be eased with a gentle massage of the following blend. Be careful not to massage deeply, as some pressure points in the feet, ankles and legs can induce labor.

It's not uncommon to have fears about pregnancy. You may wonder whether you are progressing normally, whether the baby is healthy, etc. Use this blend to bring comfort and reassurance when you feel you need it most. In a 10-ml bottle, pour the essential oils and then add organic vegetable oil to fill.
1 drop Roman Chamomile
1 drop Neroli
Massage the solar plexus. Pour a few drops of this aromatic blend into the palm of your hands and inhale deeply. Add several drops to your unscented lotion and massage on your body to soothe and moisturize dry skin and treat stretch marks.
Blend to Ease Anxiety, Nervousness

Aromatherapy: Healing Blends for Dogs

Dogs have a predictable set of physical ailments that may occur during their life span. Today I'll share aromatherapy blends that will soothe and heal skin problems, remove and prevent fleas and ticks, relieve the pain of rheumatism and arthritis, revive energy and control pet odor.
Blend to Relieve Skin Problems
Pour the following essential oils into a 10-ml bottle and fill with Calendula oil. Apply to afflicted area.
5 drops Lavender
6 drops Geranium
Blend to Relieve Itching
Pour the following essential oils into a 10-ml bottle and fill with Calendula oil. Apply to afflicted area.
4 drops Lavender
5 drops Geranium
3 drops Roman Chamomile
Blend to Combat Fleas
Fleas are nuisances for man and animal alike. This sinister pest hides within your pets' fur as well as in our carpets, parquet and window coverings.
Prepare the following blend by pouring the following ingredients into a 1-oz spray bottle:
7.5 ml Mint essential oil
22.5 ml rubbing alcohol
Fleas absolutely dislike mint! Spray the affected areas of your home. Don't forget your dog's bed. Spray directly onto your dog, holding the bottle about 10 inches from him. Avoid spraying on the head and eyes.
Blend to Combat Ticks
Check your home and pet for ticks - look in his bed, window coverings, walls, etc. Burn the ones you find to prevent them from coming back.
Prepare the following blend by pouring the essential oils into a 10-ml bottle and adding organic vegetable oil to fill.
10 drops Tea Tree
10 drops Lavender
Apply 1 drop of Lavender and 1 drop of Tea Tree undiluted essential oils before extracting ticks from your pet. This will disinfect the inflamed area. It may sting a little bit (as alcohol would) but it works great!


Blend to Ease Rheumatism
Like humans, many dogs suffer from rheumatism as they age. Your veterinarian may treat him with specific medications or natural therapies. But locally, you can apply and massage the following blend in the morning and night to alleviate pain.
Prepare the following blend by pouring the essential oils into a 10-ml bottle and adding organic vegetable oil to fill.
8 drops Birch
8 drops Juniper
7 drops Rosemary
Blend to Ease Arthritis
As recommended by some veterinarians, soften your dog's bed to make it very cozy and warm. If your dog is an "outside" pet, allow him to sleep inside. A little moist heat, applied directly over painful joints, can be a great comfort to arthritic pets. Get him a warm sweater, or apply a moist heating pad. And massage the area twice a day with the following blend to soothe the pain away.
Prepare the following blend by pouring the essential oils into a 10-ml bottle and adding organic vegetable oil to fill.
12 drops Birch
8 drops Juniper
7 drops Rosemary
Blend to Boost His Energy
Prepare the following blend by pouring the essential oils into a 10-ml bottle and adding organic vegetable oil to fill. Massage the spine gently. Use in the mornings only.
5 drops Rosemary
6 drops Lavender
2 drops Peppermint
Blend to Control Pet Odor
Try this natural and aromatic spray. Pour the essential oils into a 1-oz spray bottle filled with water. Shake very vigorously several times before each use. Spray directly onto your dog, holding the bottle about 10 inches from him. Avoid spraying on the head and eyes.
10 drops Lavender
10 drops Geranium
6 drops Lemon
Stress
**We do hope that these recipes help alleviate some of the common stress-related symptoms your loving pet may be experiencing. Beyond these aromatherapy blends, flower essences have been found to be helpful holistic remedies for animals as well. Be sure to consult your veterinarian if stress-related symptoms persist in your pet.

Aromatherapy: Healing Blends for Cats
Here are few tips veterinarians often suggest to keep your dear friend healthy:
Do not overfeed your cat with "people" food, such as milk, cheese, etc. Invest in a quality brand and pay close attention to the ingredients. Preferably go to a pet store to find the highest quality food.
Do not feed your cat only canned food. Canned food alone causes fatigue and does not provide a sufficient amount of nutrients. Most vets will recommend a diet of both canned and dry food.
If you own an outdoor cat, allow him or her to hunt. Cats truly enjoy this experience and it is an excellent source for exercise as well.
Always provide your cat with lots of attention and love. Set aside time to play and cuddle with the special kitty in your life.
Brush your cat once a week with a brush designed specially for your cat's size and fur type. This disperses the furs natural oil and creates shine.
If your cat has dandruff be sure to shampoo him every few months with an unscented baby shampoo and/or visit a professional.
If you own an indoor cat, be sure to manicure his claws on a regular basis.
Mineral supplements are wonderful for cats. You can find cat-specific supplements in natural food or pet stores. Be sure to always follow the advice of your veterinarian.
Keep your cat comfy with his own soft and warm "cat bed."
For a healthful and lengthy life, always keep up with vaccinations.
The following aromatherapy recipes will complete your cat's healthy living regime. Please note, you should NOT spray directly on the cat, but rather a bit on his bed or around the cat in order to create a fine mist. Just one time spray is enough. Be sure to follow the specific use instructions listed immediately after the ingredients for each blend.
Deter Household Fleas
15 drops of Peppermint
Pour the essential oil into a 30 ml spritzer bottle filled with water. Spray the bed and all other infected areas.
Use a special flea treatment recommended by your veterinary to treat your cat himself.
Control Cat Odor
10 ml of Lemon
5ml of Lavender
5ml of Pine
Pour the essential oils into a 30 ml spritzer filled with water. Spray around the house regularly and on infected areas. This blend works especially well for urine odor.
Ease Coughs, Coriza, Typhus
5 ml of Eucalyptus
5 ml of Pine
1 ml of Tea Tree
Pour the essential oils into a 30 ml spritzer filled with water. Gently spray your cat and then around the apartment or house. The therapeutic mist will help strengthen your cat's immune system, heal existing ailments and purify the air.
Combat Lethargy
4 drops of Rosemary
5 drops of Lavender
Pour the essential oils into a 10 ml bottle and then add organic vegetable oil to fill. Anoint the spine of your cat and then pour a few drops into the palm of your hands. Place your hand under your cat's nose and allow him to breathe in the aroma.

Children Aromatherapy
So what are the most common childhood ailments, and how can you safely use aromatic blends on your children? Try creating the following recipes at home for a natural healing alternative. To create these blends, pour your essential oils into a 10-ml bottle, and fill will organic vegetable oil.

Colds and Flu
2 drops Rosemary
2 drops Eucalyptus
Rub blend on the chest and middle back. Add a few drops of the aromatic blend to your child's warm bath water and let him/her soak for at least 15 minutes. Pour 4 drops of the aromatic blend on a tissue and have your child breathe it in deeply.

Wounds and Burns
Dab 1 drop of pure, undiluted Lavender essential oil on the afflicted area. Do it just once.

Immune System Booster
2 drops Rosemary
3 drops Ravensara
Massage the solar plexus and lower back, chest and middle back. Add a few drops of the aromatic blend to your child's warm bath water and let him/her soak for at least 15 minutes. Pour 4 drops of the aromatic blend on a tissue and have your child breathe it in deeply.

Sweet Dreams
1 drop Roman Chamomile
2 drops Lavender
2 drops Orange
This is a wonderful blend for story time! Massage the forehead and temples, neck and back. Add a few drops of the aromatic blend to your child's warm bath water and let him/her soak for at least 15 minutes.

Toothaches
2 drops Roman Chamomile
Rub the essential oil directly on the cheek.

Joy and Laughter
3 drops Orange
2 drops Lemon
Massage the solar plexus and abdomen, friction the back. Pour 4 drops of the aromatic blend on a tissue and have your child breathe it in deeply.

Tummy Aches
2 drops Basil
2 drops Dill
Massage the tummy clockwise with the blend as needed.

Lack of Appetite
2 drops Cardamom
2 drops Dill
Massage the solar plexus and abdomen. Pour 4 drops of the aromatic blend on a tissue and have your child breathe it in deeply.

Motion Sickness
4 drops Lemon
1 drop Ginger
Massage the solar plexus. Pour 4 drops of the aromatic blend on a tissue and have your child breathe it in deeply.

Aromatherapy heals more than just common childhood ailments. It also has a great impact on the emotional and mental issues children face on a daily basis.

Children have their own ways of dealing with stress and internal conflict. Some internalize their emotions and attempt to hide their thoughts and feelings. Others may become overly expressive or abnormally active. Many children simply don't know how to process their complex feelings. Unlike adults, children do not have the skills and the maturity to find healthy outlets for their emotions.

Stresses in a child's family, school and social settings can contribute to any number of emotional issues, including guilt, loneliness, hyperactivity and neediness. Whatever situation your children may be facing, it is most important to emphasize communication, or share your concerns with a child therapist. I also encourage you to use one of the aromatic blends below to safely enhance the work of any therapy.

Massage along the spine, the solar plexus and abdomen. Pour a few drops of the blend into your child's warm bath water and have him/her soak for at least 10 minutes. Pour a few drops in the palm of your hands and have your child inhale deeply.

Withdrawal
NOTE: Avoid nighttime use. Do not use if your child is hyperactive.

Adolescence and Teenagers

Adolescence is one of the most difficult stages of our lives. During this dynamic period, we not only encounter awkward physical changes -- such as skin problems and weight issues -- but we also see a rise in the expectations we face from family and society, which brings emotional conflict. In fact, one-third of American teens claim they suffer daily from stress-related issues, including sleep deprivation, anxiety and depression. The other two-thirds say they feel stress-related symptoms at least once a week.

Teenagers in general have a tendency to shut down their emotions as a method of coping with the influx of change in their lives. They may also become irritable, angry, provocative, or resort to drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism. This stage is also extremely difficult on the parents, who must also come to terms with their teens, who are no longer children.
