(Onward from LEIF GALLERY, PAGE 1 )

Yes, Leif had been to Phoenix before. Here he is as a spokesperson for the March of Dimes charity, in March 1979...

Robin (w/ her high school pal, Sheryl), recalled how, after the March of Dimes event ended, she had her mother speed down to the airport to find him. After panic searching, she spotted him and got his nice personalized autograph (on her own Tour Book, which was later destroyed (accidentally?) by my own mother when I borrowed it (she's had another autograph of his on a different occasion)). She also added that he pecked her on her cheek, just like Leif did to me in Tempe (January 28, 2000)! If you're wondering why I wasn't there that day, it's because my mother wouldn't drive me (she "set" a dentist appt. for a checkup for that day, so I missed it- what killjoy!).

Robin also saw Leif's concert at the 1979 Arizona State Fair (where she bought that Tour Book (cost at the time: $3.00)). Interestingly, in 1980, a Phoenix young girl named Cindy told me she went to the 1979 Minnesota State Fair, where Leif was performing, and how she got to meet him up close. She said he lifted her and started singing a Mickey Mouse song to her as he held her. Funny story! (AND, she was pretty articulate)...Also, click HERE to read another fan's story (ccp'd for my Leif Gallery Misc. page) of attending a Leif concert at Minnesota State Fair '79 (scroll down a bit until you see a picture of her ticket)! Enjoy...

A trip down Memory Lane...

Born November 8, 1961 in Hollywood, California; raised in San Fernando Valley area.
Aww...

With Alex Rocco & Vincent Van Patten of the short-lived 1975 TV series "Three for the Road", a vehicle that catapulted him to fame, thanks to the teen idol magazines such as Tiger Beat. They (magazine people) inspired the button-down image below, which is considered a no-no in present-day magazines. (Remember those bell bottoms??)

The colorful poster below is from the 1977 movie, "Skateboard". It's this photo that got me into him for years to come-- it was in a New Jersey (where I was born) store called, Valley Fair, where this poster was hung on display for all to see, and each time I went to the store with my family, I always made sure to turn to ogle the poster each time we walked past it! I don't know why, I guess it's fate? After meeting him years later, I think I know why...he's a great gentleman.

Hunky spandex image below, at age 17, the 'LQQK' that he currently disdains.

With his younger sister Dawn Lyn (who played Dodie on "My Three Sons"), born January 11, 1963. Notice they're both reading those Tiger Beat magazines; I used to love to collect & read- I've saved them all! Brother & sister used to be close. Today, they're sadly estranged...
