Sean in the Cuba Documentary
(7.02.01 at rehearsals) I think the grand gesture is on their part the fact that they've allowed us to go there and play. We're not after record sales or any sort of recognition from them.
(day before the gig at the Karl Marx Theatre) The millennium stadium gig that we did was sort of ending of a century, the millennium, even our own sort of little chapter of the manic street preachers, and you know maybe this is the last chapter I don't know.
(talking outside) I suppose it's a nice alternative to that tibetan freedom concert that everyone seems to be obsessed with in america. I suppose this is our version of it.
(driving through Central Havana) For a city of 2 and a half million people it doesn't seem particularly crowded.
(when Sean met Fidel) Fidel has hold of Sean's hand then he puts his arm round him. Sean and Fidel are talking and Sean says something like "no I'm not" (I wonder what they were talking about)
(sitting down with a guitar after the gig) I was just calm and waiting for everyone else to calm down. If there was more seats in there then I just wished that everyone else would sit down.
(talking outside) Not many people achieve all the dreams that they want and we haven't stopped in the last 10 years sort of achieving things little by little and even the bad times we haven't let it get us down too much it's almost in a way given us more energy to try and achieve everything that we've set out when we were first talking about the band in James's little bedroom listening to the clash.

James on Sean's wedding from the documentary: I just kept thinking the most stupid things, like when we went to Sean's wedding last year, I turned up and I'd pressed my own suit so like I had a crease right down the middle of my trousers and they always take the piss out of that because I always press my trousers mother style. And all I could think was like he sat down and he had the crease right down the middle of his trousers, I just wanted to go to Nick and Sean "look! look! he does it like that too".
