I remember a burial at sea. I remember the Statue of Liberty. I remember the silence of everyone, save gulls and ships engines, as we slipped into the port of New York. My Uncle Joseph Zizza met us and took us into his home. I turned four years old one month later so this must have been April of 1951.

I remember as a 14 year old child, little about the ocean crossing. The ship had about 1400 passengers of various nationalities. The Atlantic ocean was very stormy during the voyage, however, I never did get seasick. I helped out in the kitchen and distribution of food during meal hours.
