Chinese New Year is an important festival among the Chinese community. It usually falls between January or February each year. The festival lasts for 15 days. There are many traditions and customes related to this festival.

 

The Hindus celebrated Deepavali which is also know as the Festival of Lights. To immerse yourself in this festive mood, do make a trip to Little India to enjoy the light ups along Serangoon Road.

Thaipusam is an important celebration of the Hindus. It is a holy and sacred celebration and some of the devotees make sacrifice and promise to their gods. They go through the ritual of cleansing and prayers to prepare themselves for carying the kavadi.
Devotees celebrate Vesak Day once a year, in worship to Budda. Thousands of devotees visit the temples for prayers and sacred rituals. This is followed by a vegetarian feast which is often given free to them.
