comments: G'day mate, welcome back, been enjoying your new website and of course your knowledgable perspective on things Docker.  And aren't we all enjoying season 2003.  Everything promises so much.  If we had rolled the dice a bit more in the third quarter of the derby who knows where we would be at.  Maybe worse, but I doubt it.

I particularly enjoy the fact that we haven't got it all down to the ground in fourth gear yet, although the Bullies game was close.

Players like Polak, Haddril, Hayden, Schammer and Sandilands are way ahead of my estimates for development and contribution to our side, and it is just so hard to keep a lid on it, but I'm doing my best.

Just love to really flog a few sides now, on the way to a serious shot at finals.

Anyway, carry on.  Spread the word.

Ed's Comments: Nice to hear from you, Blocker. It has been a bit hectic over the past few months but things are starting to settle down at last. It has been a terrific season so far and you get a strange feeling every Monday waking up knowing that the side has another win on the board. The memories of 2001 are slowly starting to dissapate from memory but they need to keep going until they have those 12 wins on the board and everything after that is a bonus. The best part about the year has been the fact that we have never had all the players switch on and each week someone else has stepped up. I think Cook has certainly felt the difference with Headland as he is being left alone each week and racking up terrific stats and his skills are improving all the time. All of the blokes you mention have really come along and I am particularly pleased with Schammer who has shown terrific hands and that is always the sign of a top player. You can get fitter and improve skills but clean hands are something most of the top players have naturally and all of the signs are good. As you would know I have always been a fan of Haddrill's and am looking forward to seeing him continue to improve while Hayden and Woods have been revelations for the defence and added pace and dash from half-back. It's like it was in the Chisolm days without the heartache of wondering where the ball will go. The next month or so will certainly give us an indication of where we are going.

comments: need more pictures of the players

Ed's Comments: For the sake of keeping the AFL off your back, I have not included any pictures as it is more hassle than it is worth but I will keep it in mind if they decide to relax their rules which I can't see happening.
