Notes for PITSER MILLER DERRYBERRY: "Pits" was a farmer, contractor, & in logging business. Was taken prisoner during Civil War at Fort Donelson.

He lived, at one time, in the log cabin which is near the peach orchard & the infamous 'bloody pond' at Shiloh National Military Park near Selmer, TN.

Pitser Miller was a prominent attorney in Bolivar, Hardeman County, Tennessee in 1837 & firmly believe that Pitser Miller Derryberry was named for him.

Have copy of Pitser's death certificate, signed by Dr. J.M. Brynum & undertaker, John Tyson of Corinth. Died of Gruppal bronchitis.
