Smudge Fish

select a ez grad from these below or choose one o your favs...

set your color pallet up like this :

decide what your gonna draw.. keep the shape simple if your not comfortable wit drawin
paintbrush
lasso
flood fill
inner bevel ..play wit settins
drop shadow

do on each part.. can change angle of the gradient to make it diff


select new 300 X 300 transparent 16.7 mil colors
select paint brush .. usin tool options .. set brush @ round and size @ 3 .. hard, opacity, density all @ 100, step 25

on your forground color .. place the gradient you chose ... or one you like in foreground
background s/b null

textures are off see :smudge1.jpg

wand ... tap inside fish
invert
flood fill
invert again
move direction of gradient
flood fill rest o pic
invert again so fish is in 'ants'
inner bevel > vase on mine show pic
drop shadow > show pic

ctrl D ..to deselct
add layer 2 .. you do not need to to name layers, once you are satisfied with each layer, you can merge visable and save

again select paintbrush ..settings are still the same
draw a fin on top the fish ... you do not have to be exact, if it overlaps or doesnt quiet touch its fine, we will fix it later
once youve drawn fin..
hide layers except for the one were workin in,
magic wand ... tap anywhere on the layer
invert
move direction of gradient
flood fill
invert again so fin is in 'ants'
inner bevel > vase on mine show pic
drop shadow
deselect
if you are satisfied with this, go ahead and and show all layers again
merge visable

SAVE WORK ^*^

now we can add a dorsel fin and side fins using same method:

add layer
draw fin on side of the body
move gradient to diff position
hid other layer
tap layer wit magic wand
invert
inner bevel .. feel free to play wit settings for diff effects
drop shadow
show all layers
fade this fin to the strength you desire, mine is around 60%
deselect
merge visible

SAVE

again add a layer
draw fin on bottom of fish
move gradient to diff position
hid other layer
tap layer wit magic wand
invert
inner bevel .. feel free to play wit settings for diff effects
drop shadow
show all layers
fade to desired look
deselect
merge visible

SAVE

whew ..... ya still breathin?

now we need to add the eye

select your selection tool > goto tool option box and choose elispe
zoom your fish up to 2 : 1 size if you like, it helps for details
using elisp tool, make his eye
chose flood fill tool
click on the gradient and change the position
also change repeat from zero to 12 -- you should have somethin lookin like a candy stripe
flood fill the eye
inner bevel -same settings
choose elispe tool again
change your foreground from gradient to paint and choose black
flood fill the inner eye you have drawn
deselect
merge visable

SAVE

now for the mouth:

add layer
select freehand tool (the lasso)
draw lips on your fish, making and leave them 'active'
select gradient again in forground
move angle of the gradient
repeat should still be set at 12
flood fill
innner bevel
drop shadow
deselect
fade to desired effect
merge visable

SAVE

now comes the fun part .. lolz

select retouch tool (the finger)
goto tool options .... open retouch options and set as follows:

show pic now you can smudge to get the desired effect
i zoom my picture up to 2 : 1 again to smudge

it might take a little practice , but smudge the fins so they 'blend' in
smudge the tail, the jagged edges
zoom it down to 1:1 ... and see if its the desired effect

keep smudgin until your happy wit the results and walla ^*^
your now the proud owner of a smudish lolz hope everyone enjoyed ez
