Notes about thumbs:

"steele": The most simple design for a silkscreen press. One color, black ink upon a white (or colored) background. It would also be simple to isolate just the text for a 2nd screen. Doing that would allow giving the text it's own color, without the guitar-neck

"steele2": Identical to steele, but in negative. With this template given to a printmaker, the black spaces will wash clean of emulsion, while the white shall be burned. Therefore, you could print this image in white ink upon a black T-shirt.

"steele2b": This is what the steele2 final-image would look like when printed in white ink upon a black T-shirt. (sorry, was in a rush, so the HB title got a bit screwed up. When silkscreened, it wouldn't have that noise around the lettering/guitar-neck intersection.)

"eagle1": This actually started-out as a joke design, but think it actually "works" on some levels. This would be a rather complex design though, requiring 4 screens printed just for this one image. I imagined it upon a red T-shirt, the background color. The first screenprint would be a heavy opaque white base (to cancel-out the bright bleed-thru effect of the shirt color. The white undercoat would be beneath ALL other colors, a base upon which other colors would stand out, not fade into the strong red fabric after a couple washings), 2nd would be the lighter gray tone, 3rd the darker gray tone, and finally the black outline/text. I tinkered with the tones & hues a bit, and instead of 2 shades of gray, it looks pretty sharp (call it "cold metallic") when substituting two shades of blue in place of gray. Oh yeah. The "HB" initials in the wreath are just temporary. The original swastica in there just didn't "fit" as a hostboard motif, ya' know?

"eagle2": is left in B&W with the graytones. Larger image & no added background color. Also didn't try to put anything inside the wreath (except static).

"colasign1": just playing. Never could find a font that looked "just right" for mimicing Coca-Cola. This actually could be used as a T-shirt design, although it contains about 9 seperate colors, which would be a pain-in-the-ass for registration. Maybe if enlarged, sharpened & cleaned-up, it could be used as a poster (the original was a hanging tin sign).

"villagep2": It might be funny, blending hostboard with the 70's icon of gay pride. Damn, they're three people short of holding-up letters spelling-out "hostboard". Almost all their hands are playing in/around their pant pockets too.

"jesus": This pic has been made fun of for ages. Prolly moreso since pedophile-priests making headlines a couple years ago. This needs a witty sharp caption though, or I wouldn't wanna use it.

"sks1": Is a gun I'm willing to sell to the highest bidder. Nobody has even reached the minimum bid yet. 7.62 x 39 mm ammo. Note that the shoulder stock has been cut short, because it was originally purchased for home defense & the stock just got in the way. "sks2" is what it looks like with a 30 rnd banana clip. "sks3" & "sks4" try to show how the spring-loaded bayonette functions, on a bolted hinge, snapping over the barrel tip. With the bayonette installed, a flash-suppressor/recoil compensator cannot be used. "sks5" shows the bayonette locked in place.

"poison01": another unlikely T-shirt design. Basically just took the composition of the "steele" image & substituted a different font & picture. It's difficult adjusting brightness/contrast with this pic to get an even B&W. There are too many subtle shades of gray across her chest, and it's all lost upon her necklaces. Perhaps like with "eagle", could leave in the grays & break it down to two midtones...? That would highlight her necklaces & facepaint.

"poison-Tl": this image is too large to view in thumbnail version, but is a giant blowup of the above "poison01" image given multiple greytones, which could either be seperate screens/colors, or one screen with seperate graytone values. The original is saved as a .PDD using multiple layers, so would be easy to isolate each graytone for layering.

5 "Blizzard Pics": From the New England blizzard of February 2003.
