Chapter 7

In a fit a wild anger, Justin grabbed for anything within his reach, trowing it angerly across the bus. "God, dam it!" He grabbed a pitcher of water, slaming it against the floor, shattering it into a million pieces. He dropped to the ground in a river of tears, trying desperately to figure out what it was he needed to do. Time had been passing by to quickly. His tour was coming to an end. After almost six hard working months, it would all be over. He hadn't spoken to Shannon in almost two months. Not that he cared right? I mean, after all he was just trowing things around angerly, just at the fact that JC and Shannon had been dating for the last two and a half months.

He hid in his bunk, as he heard the others stepping onto the bus. They had one more city to go too and then it would all be over. He placed his headphones over his head, drowning out their voices. He pushed the play button on his IPod, as he listened to the song that started playing. His eyes brimmed with tears, as he listened to the song that his friend Joey Fatone sang on his movie, "On The Line."

"I get a feeling, I can't explain.
Whenever your eyes meet mine.
My heart spins in circles, and I lose all strength in time.
And now that, were standing face to face.
Something tells me, it's gonna be okay.

And I'm ready to fall in love tonight.
Ready to hold my heart open wide.
I can't promise forever, but baby I'll try.
I'm ready to fall, in love tonight."

He pushed the stop button, not being able to handle the lyrics of the ballad. He removed his headphones, as he peaked his head out to take a look at what was going on.

"C'mon JC, cut it out." Shannon laughed, as JC had her pinned to the floor.

"Not until you're sorry for stuffing jello in my face."

A stab of jealously, ran through Justin's body as he watched everyone in the room laughing at the two young lovers on the floor. Yet, he did nothing in his power to stop his friend from taking the woman of his dreams. Wait, the woman of my dreams? No. She means nothing to me. No woman, means anything to me. They're all liars, and back stabbers. I hate 'em. I hate them all! He looked back towards the front, his eyes wide with painful tears, as he watched JC and Shannon exchanged a heart filled kiss.

"You can stop that from happening ya know."

Justin sighed, as he looked above his bunk. Brad's warm colored gray eyes were staring back at him.

"We all know you love her Justin. Whether you want to admit it or not. You keep telling yourself, that you're afraid to fall in love, but yet you already have."

"I don't love her. And I can't love her now."

"Why, because JC loves her?"

"I could care less if JC loves her or not."

"Then why do you get all teary eye or upset everytime you see them together? We're not stupid Justin. You really need to figure out what it is that you want, because the longer you wait, you'll end up with nothing."

"I already have nothing. I've always had nothing. That's the way it is and that's the way it's going to stay." He closed his curtain, and drifted off to sleep.

* Orlando, Florida *

"Hey Justin?"

Justin looked up, as he looked at JC. "What?"

"Listen, I just wanted to tell you that it was fun being on this tour with you. You did a great job and I want you to know that I'm really proud of you."

Justin smiled. "Thanks man." He said, as he and JC engulfed in a warm brotherly embrace.

"Good luck out there." JC said, as he hugged him back, a small smile tipping his lips. He let go, as Shannon jumped into his arms. "Hey baby, you did great!" He complemented, as he kissed her sweetly on the lips.

Shannon smiled, as she returned it. She pulled away, as she turned to look at Justin. "Good luck tonight Justin. Make this last show the best ever!" She smiled widely, as she embraced him tightly.

Justin sighed, his eyes closing as he inhaled her sweet scent. "Thanks Shannon." He said softly, bringing his arms gently around her thin waist.

JC sighed heavily, as he watched Justin's reaction when Shannon hugged him. Was he jealous? No. Was he upset? No. Was he confused? Maybe. Was he really in love with Shannon?.... Realization had hit him, after that last question. He... He didn't love her. Did he like her? Yes. In what way? A friend or a girlfriend? Reality struck again. He liked her... As a friend. Nothing more, nothing less. Then why was he dating her? To open Justin's eyes. He smiled sightly, as he figured out what he needed to do.

"Cmon Jay. It's show time." He watched intently, as Justin pulled away from Shannon's embrace. "Let's do this!" He exclaimed, as both men walked towards the stage to perform.

* 7 months and 3 weeks later *

Shannon sighed, as she exited Macy's store in New York. It was a cold, snowy day in December. Sometimes, she even wondered why she moved out here in the first place. Then she remembered, Times Square, awesome parties. She adjusted her scarf and glasses, in a way trying to hide her imagine. Just a few more Christmas gifts, and she would be able to return to her condo.

She crossed the street, as she neared her next favorite store, Abercombie & Fitch. She gently dusted the snow off her coat, as she entered the crammed store. She went towards the men's section, searching for a present for JC. Even though they were no longer dating, they remained close friends. She choose a pair a faded demin jeans and a white polo. As she walked towards the register, she felt another body bump her from behind, dropping her belongings on the ground. She cursed silently, as she bent down to collect her things.

"I'm sorry about that ma'am."

"No, it's quiet all right." She stood up, accepting the jeans from the strangers hand.

Shannon's eyes traveled upward, as she looked at the pair of gray orbs looking back at her. "Oh my god... Brad?" Instantly, she wrapped her arms around his muscular shoulders.

Brad laughed, as he hugged her back. "Nice to see you too babe." He let her go, taking a good look at her. "Dam Shan, you look great."

"Not so bad yourself." She laughed, as she eyed his muscular form. Wow, he was handsome and... So fucking sexy.

Brad blushed, chuckling lightly. "Yeah, well I'm keeping in shape. Oh, I want to introduce you to someone." He looked back, waving someone over. "Shannon, I would like to introduce you to Sylvia Cruz, my finacee."

"Wow, it's very nice to meet you. Finacee? Brad you never told me you were getting married." She said, as she smiled at the beatiful young Hispanic woman next to him.

Brad laughed, as he wrapped his arm around Sylvia's waist. "Well, we've only been engaged for about 5 months. I asked her about two months after Justin's tour ended."

Shannon's smiled faded, as he mentioned Justin's name.

"What's wrong hun?" Sylvia asked, as she noticed Shannon's facial expression.

"Oh, nothing. Um, how is Justin doing anyway?"

Brad chuckled. "Oh man, I haven't spoken to Jay in like four months. My baby, is the one who talks to him more."

Sylvia laughed. "Me and Jay have been best friends since NSync first started." She explained.

Shannon smiled. "Wow, and now you're marrying one of Justin's good friends."

Brad smiled. "Well, Jay was the one who hook us up, back in 2001."

Shannon laughed slightly. "Well, I'm happpy for the both of you. And I better get an inviation to the wedding." She joked.

"Oh, don't worry you will."

"You better keep an eye on him. Someone as handsome and sexy as Brad, any woman can steal him away from you." She joked again.

Brad blushed, as Sylvia hugged him tighter, as she laughed sweetly. "It's all right. I trust my baby. He'll never treat me wrong or leave me for someone else, huh?" She smiled, as Brad placed a sweet kiss on her lips.

"Never baby. I love you too much." He smiled, kissing her again.

Shannon smiled at the sight. "Well, I better let you guys go. I have to finish my Christmas shopping."

"Hey, why don't you come with us?"

Shannon looked at Sylvia confused. "Um, come where?"

"Justin's throwing this Christmas party at his house. Why don't you join us? You can say hi to everyone who was on his last tour, meet some new people, maybe even party alittle."

"Yeah, that'll be great. How bout it Shan?"

Shannon sighed heavily. "Um.. O-Okay." She said, as she followed the couple out of the store. What was she doing? She hadn't seen Justin in seven months. And now, here she was showing up at his Christmas party. Oh man, what a reunion this was going to turn out to be.

Shannon's hands were shaking rapidly, as her, Brad, and Sylvia reached Justin's front door. She wasn't shaking just because she was cold, but because she was a nervous wreck. "Hey?" She looked up, Brad looking at her intently. "Relax. He's gonna be trilled to see you. Okay?"

She nodded her head, as they stepped inside the front foyer. Covering her ears, as the music played loudly around them.

"Hey Jay Jay." She looked straight, seeing Sylvia walk up to... Justin. Oh my god.. It was Justin. God he looked so good.

"Hey Boo." He smiled, wrapping his arms tightly around Sylvia. "Sup Brad, you taking care of my baby boo?" He laughed.

Brad laughed, as he hugged Justin. "You know it man." He looked back, noticing Shannon's reaction. "Hey Jay, we brought a surprise."

Justin looked over Brad's shoulder. His eyes wide with shock, yet surprised as he looked at her. "Oh my god... Sh-Shannon?"

Shannon smiled weakly. "Hey Justin. Long time no see."

Justin gasped lightly, as he engulfed her in a very warm embrace. "You have no idea how good it is to see you again." He closed his eyes, inhaling deeply. "I missed you." He admitted softly.

Shannon sighed happily, as she hugged him back. "Me too Justin. Me too."

"C'mon, let's go get something to drink." He grabbed her hand and led through the house exchanging hello's and hugs with everyone that she remembered. She even had the privilage to be introduced to all the members of NSync, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass, even JC Chasez.. Though she already knew who he was. I guess this was going to turn out to be a fun night after all. Or at least she hoped...
