Chapter 1

* Five months later *

"So, how do you feel?" JC asked, as he and Justin walked into the dance studio.

"Dude, I'm freaking out over here."

JC laughed, as they set their bags on the floor. "Relax man, everything's gonna be all right."

"Yeah, but this is my first solo tour. I guess I'm just nervous. I want everything to be perfect. We only have a month and a half to finish getting everything ready."

"Ah, don't be. Everything will be cool, you'll see."

Justin smiled, as he turned on the music. They started practicing some dance moves, trying to figure out something that they could use to add to Justin's choreography. They stopped the music after about two hours, as Robert, Justin's manager walked into the room.

"Hey guys."

"Hey Rob." They both said, taking a sip from their bottle of water.

"Justin, I just came to let you know that we have an opening act for the tour. She'll be here tomorrow at nine to finalize her paper work."

"All right, I'll be there." He repiled, as Robert walked out of the studio.

"So, how's everything in the love department?" JC asked suddenly.

Justin sighed heavily, as he zipped up his bag. "Love? Is that even a word?" He answered sarcastically.

"C'mon Justin."

"I'm serious JC. I'm through with all of it. The word love is no longer on my vocabulary list. It doesn't even exist anymore."

"Look Justin, I understand that things didn't exactly work out between you and Angela. But that doesn't mean that you can shut out every girl because of that."

"Sure I can, and I did." He picked up his bag, as they both walked out the studio and down the long hallway. "I can never trust a girl, for as long as I live. It's because of them, that I can't fall in love. I hate love. It isn't true. I don't believe in it."

"No matter what you say, you're always going to believe in love. You need it in your life, because without it, you'll have nothing."

"I don't need love to be happy. I'm doing just fine without it." He answered, a hint of saddness hidden behind each word.

"Whatever you say man." JC said, as they reached the the stage.

"I'm just afraid to fall in love." Justin said, as he got ready to rehearse for his upcoming tour.

"All right guys let's take it from the top." Wade said, as Justin and his dancers went over the dance routine once more. The music to "Like I Love You" started playing, as they began their dance moves. Robert smiled, as he stood in front of the stage. He started clapping, as the music ended.

"Brilliant work everyone."

"All right everyone, take five." Wade said, as the dancers walked towards the lounge.

"Justin, Wade I need to have a word with the both of you."

Justin and Wade walked timidly towards Robert. "Is there a problem Rob?" Justin asked cautiously.

Robert chuckled. "Of course not, I just want to introduce you to your opening act." The guys stood still, as they watched a young girl walk towards Robert. "Guys, this is Shannon Michael."

"WOW." Wade beamed. "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Wade Robson."

"It's very nice to meet you."

"I'm Justin. Nice to have you on the tour." He said quickly, not bothering to shake her hand.

"A pleasure." She replied, looking at him akwardly.

"All right, c'mon Wade let's get back to work." He said, as he started walking back towards the stage.

Wade rolled his eyes, as he looked back at Shannon. "Don't mind him. He's just PMSing."

Shannon smiled slightly, as she watched Wade walk back towards the stage with the other dancers.

"C'mon, lets sit and watch so you can get a glimpse at what you're going to be working with." Robert said, as they both walked towards the seating area.

* Later that night *

"All right guys, that's it for tonight. See you all tomorrow morning, six am sharp."

The dancers sighed heavily, as they gathered their belongings and headed towards the exit.

"Hey Justin, c'mere I need to talk to you." Wade said, as he placed his cd's in his bag.

"What's up man?" Justin said, as he stood next to him. Wade looked at him, as his hand smacked the back of Justin's head. "OW! What was that for?"

"That." Wade started, as he lifted his bag over his shoulder. "Is for being an asshole earlier today."

"What are you talking about? How was I being an asshole?" He asked, as he rubbed the back of his head.

"The way you were acting with Shannon. You were being completely rude and disrespectful. Man, a five year old has better manners than you."

"Well, excuse me for being me."

"Hey guys!"

"Sup C." They said, as they reached the parking lot. "Dude, did you see the new opening act? Man, she's a cute one."

"She wasn't cute." Justin answered quickly.

"Oh yeah right, and aches just a turn on."

"C'mon Justin, you're taking this emotion thing, way above and beyond."

"I wasn't bullshitting when I said I was afraid of falling in love. Which is why I acted the way I acted with Shannon. I don't want, in any way to get attached to her. I won't let her beauty distract me."

"So.. You admit that she's pretty?"

Justin stood quiet looking at them with a dumbfolded look, after he realized what he said. "Well, I - I mean I --" He studdered quickly, as Wade and JC started laughing at him. "You know what, fuck you guys I'm going home."

Wade laughed slightly, as he watched Justin step inside his black escalade. "This is going to be fun."

"What is?"

"Justin and Shannon."

"You honestly think Justin is really going to fall for Shannon?"

"Not really." He looked at him, as they walked towards their cars. "But, maybe Shannon will be the one to cure to all of Justin's fears."

"Word." JC said, as they stepped into their cars and drove off.
