Chapter 2

*Thursday evening*

     "Julia!!"

     "WHAT?!?!?"

"Hurry up... We still have to go home and pack!"

     "Alright, alright I'm coming."

Sylvia waited impatiently for Julia to come out of the dressing room.

     "So..."

     Sylvia looked up.

"How do I look?" Julia asked as she stood in front of the mirror.

"Damn girl! You look gorgeous! I wonder what guy you're going to impress at the party?" Sylvia said with smug smile.

     Julia laughed. "Very funny Sylvia."

"OK OK, so are you going to get that dress or not?"

     "Well...."

     "C'mon girl...."

     "I like the dress, but..."

     "But what?"

     "It's too expensive."

"Oh hush... Go change and bring the dress back."

Julia sighed and walked back into the dressing room. Though Sylvia was her best friend, she didn't want her spending a lot of money on her. It just didn't look right to her. But it's Sylvia... And when it comes to her friends, she's always there for them, always being the shoulder to cry on, listening to them and their problems, giving them advice, and giving them something they like... Buying them clothes, CD's, no matter how expensive it was... But most important, she was their in heart, and she will do anything to see each one of them happy.

Julia walked out of the dressing room. She walked up to the front counter, where Sylvia was waiting for her.

     "Well, hello Sylvia!"

"Evening Beth, how are you doing today?"

     "Pretty good actually."

     "That's good to hear."

The cashier smiled back sweetly. "So, are you going to pay for that?"

"Yup." Sylvia said as she handed her the dress.

She rang up the total of the dress and placed it neatly inside a bag. "Alright, that'll be $324.32."

Sylvia looked at Julia, then back at the middle aged woman. A dumbfounded look plastered on Sylvia's young face.

     "Um... Beth."

     "Yes, sweetie?"

"The price of that dress is $530.62."

"Yes, I am aware of that."

"OK, so why did it come out to $324.32?"

     "Sylvia, Sylvia, Sylvia.">br>
     "What, what, what?"

"You're our favorite customer in this store... So we all decided to give you a discount every time you bought something here."

"Oh... OK then..." She handed her the credit card.

The cashier handed her card back along with a receipt.

"There you go... Thank you very much... Hope to see you soon!"

"Yeah, you too Beth... Buh bye!"

     "Bye Sylvia."

Sylvia and Julia walked out of the elegant store. Julia looked at Sylvia as they headed towards the exit doors.

"What was that all about?" Julia asked, as she and Sylvia walked through the half filled parking lot.

Sylvia laughed. "I have no clue!" They reached her car and got in. "I guess that's what happens when you're famous!"

Both girls laughed, as they sped out of the parking lot, and headed towards home to get their suitcases ready for tomorrow morning.
